People will always mention that the V1 is somehow weak on 35.5 so I like to put up this information to counter any negativity.

Let's exam the so-called 35.5 Ka band "weakness" of the V1.

Remember, all of the below results do not include the 35.5 Ka sensitivity increase in the newer V1. 3.891 and up models.

GOL One Second Instant-On Ka Band Radar Detector Test - August 2009

All four Valentine Ones alerted for a combined 100 percent of the time to 1 second instant-on pulses of 35.5 Ka band from .08 miles away.

All Belscort products alerted for a combined 55 percent of the time to 1 second instant-on pulses of 35.5 Ka band from .08 miles away.

It's worth noting that the Cobra XRS 9745, which can be found brand new on eBay for $99, beat or equalled every Belscort in the above test except for the old Escort 8500 (Non X50) and Bel V985.


GOL 1/2 Second Instant-On Ka Band Radar Detector Test - August 2009

All four Valentine Ones alerted for a combined 92 percent of the time to 1/2 second instant-on pulses of 35.5 Ka band from .08 miles away.

All Belscort products alerted for a combined 31 percent of the time to 1/2 second instant-on pulses of 35.5 Ka band from .08 miles away.

If i made a dollar everytime this was posted i could buy another V1..LOL
