V1 with smartcord?

So I am considering selling my redline and purchasing a new v1 with tsr (with tsr off on my rl I get about 10 extra falses on my daily drive so I like it on) But my escort is hardwired into my car with the smart cord so I was wondering if I were to plug in the v1 to the escort smart cord, would it power on and as icing on the cake, would it also mute with the button?

It would power the V1 but not mute.

And it will refuse to enter programming mode when powered with that cable. Don't be surprised when that happens. I spent 5 minutes confused until I tried a different cable.

Is there a cord that incorporates the mute button like the escorts without having to get the remote control module?

The new V1 comes with the hardwire adapter and an 8’ straight cord plus a 2’ – 8’ coiled cord. You would have to mute the V1 with its volume knob unless you got the extra CD and / or remote audio adapter or both. Some of the guys here have built their own mute buttons in recent threads, do a search.

I try that and I couldn't mute my V1 but when I got my cord to plug into my power mirror I found that I could do both with my Redline and V1.

thanks for the info guys, my rl speaker just crapped out on me so I guess its time to move on to the v1. Im hoping its as quiet as the rl since it has tsr now.
