Default Whistler SRT 30R missed my k band gun!

I was testing my newer "low cost" Whistler last night w/ my MPH k band radar gun and it missed a few k band hits. Now I have heard that the Pro 58 and 73 models are good but what about the SRT 30R? Do I have to send it back to Whistler? I don't have time to be sending detectors back to the manufacturer time and time again. Frustrating!!!

    Default inside

Inside my apt w/ my MPH K-15-2 analog k band unit. I got some alerts to constant on k band but w/ instant on, it was shady.

When you did the instant-on, how long did you trigger the radar for? Some older radars don't transmit instantly when the switch is pressed, there could be a brief delay.

Also, the Whistler might not respond to quick triggers, due to anti-falsing algorithms.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

    thats a joke right?

when i would hold the trigger on my bushnell and aim at my friends cobra it wouldn't respond for like 3 seconds and then it wouldn't have full signal for another 2 or 3..furthermore, it didn't pick up any IO whatsoever

    kpatz is right...
But I know the high-end Whistlers have some of the best response times in the industry, not sure about the low-end models though.

It's signal overload. Response time on even low end Whistlers is quite good, but if the signal is too strong, it will not alert. Put some distance between the radar and the detector and your problems will go away.

I have the Whistler 1730 (the 2nd lowest model) and I came up on a speed watch using instant on K.

Drove by 6 times in all and it picked up every time before I saw them.

I only got brief alerts whent they pulled the trigger on the cars in front of me (2-3/5 leds) until they were in sight then it was full alert.

Your SRT-30 should have similar performance.
