XTR-695 Ordered!
Just a FYI- I just pre-ordered a XTR-695. Now I guess I will patiently wait for my credit card to be charged so I will know when it is shipping....I'm told an estimated shipping date will be May 19th.
I hate to wait!

An update to the pro series for PPS and Ka ID (I would pay for it)
A new Pro Series with these features
I am a big fan of the pro series display, and always being able to see my display.
My next detector is a V1, just because I have chosen a passive lidar setup.
Man I cant wait to see reviews and pictures of your detector! Keep us posted

The way I see it- I can let my wife run with the Pro-78 while I play with the 695, and if they do offer an upgrade to the existing Pro-78 for a small fee, I will get that done and have both. Depending how I like the screen on the 695, I would probably snag the 78 back from the wife (ssshhhh don't tell her my evil plan!)
I can't imagine the 695 screen being too different than the 690, except for the optional colors...so for you guys who have the 690, is the screen that big of a deal in hot weather? I always remove my detector from the windshield anyway it's second nature at this point, so I can just throw it in my shoulder pack and keep it cool inside the office all day-
Its only an issue if you leave it up in the car in my opinion. I put mine in the center console, and never have any problems. One time when I forgot to take it down, the screen was really bad after sitting in the sun it took me about 5 min holding it in front of the AC to get it back to normal.
If you take the detector with you then there should be no problem at all with the LCD screen.
Just wanted to send an update on shipping- It now appears the XTR-695 is estimated to start shipping on 6/13/08.

nice, just dont keep it in a hot car. lcd works just fine until it gets baked in a hot car. it will take atleat 20 mins for the screen to come back to normal if left in a hot car.
