    Default Double Band

If I'm driving through a town and there's K band cameras every 400ft and the RD is constantly at 4-7 K band, will it pick up a cop running Ka along with the K?

Schenectady here has a K band camera every 400 ft on every light.

Alert priority is a Bel/Escort patent. The Whistler will alert to Ka if the Ka band signal is stronger than any K band signals being detected. Thus...

-- Whistler products alert to whatever radar band being received is the strongest. This means that you will get a K band alert from a nearby patrol car using K band radar even if the Whistler is also detecting a much more distant patrol car operating Ka band.

-- Bel/Escort products alert to whatever radar band has the higher alert priority regardless of the relative intensities of radar signals on each band. This means that you will get a Ka band alert for a distant patrol car using Ka band radar even though there might be a nearby patrol car which is using K band radar.

Neither system is ideal if you have lots of K band false alert sources and at the same time have law enforcement which operates both K and Ka band radar guns. Bel/Escort tries to resolve this problem with their Threat Display and Expert Meter, and Valentine of course has its unique Bogey Counter. Whister assumes that false signal sources are very localized and that very shortly the approaching police radar threat will "shine through" due to its higher signal strength.

I had a full Ka blast from a Cobra and I had a known K spot take over the full Ka 9 blast. I don't like that

The Cobra false only lasted around probably ~50ms so the continues K band alert took over after the cobra false already died. From what I'm gathering the Pro 78 did alert to Ka band though over the K band at first?

Not good. I saw a lot of situations when Pro 78 did'n alert to Ka band Multanova (low powered photoradar) when there was other radar source - for example K band door sensor. If you live in Europe it's completely disaster!
If Whistler really think to be a serious player in Europe, it need to be changed.
