Pro 78se 34.7Ka and 35.5Ka video 9/10/2009

I got these 2 radar detections while on my way to Costco today.

In the first video, the Pro 78se alerted 34.7 Ka band as I was approaching the intersection.

Guess what I found when I got to Costco? The Pro 78se alerted to the same patrol car I saw 9 days ago by the mall entrance. Well, I don't know if it's the same one from before. But this time the patrol car is facing the other way.

I'm not sure if you are referring to the 2nd video. I've not notice a police sub station in that mall before, but it's possibility. Or, maybe he was there for lunch, since that's the entrance for the food court and the dollar movie theater.

If you are referring to the first video, then that is the Utah Department of Public Safety building and the Police Academy parking lot where the UHP patrol car was coming out of.

I recognize that building. That's the Utah Hwy Patrol and Peace Officer Standards and Training building. Nice!

I try to have the camera on at all time when I'm looking for radar detections. I had not intended to do any radar hunt or video recordings today. That's why the camera was not mounted or on when I first got the detections. So, I had to dig the camera out of my pocket and start recording as fast as I can soon after I got the radar alerts.

What camera do you use?

I've been using a Canon SD880IS in the car. It's a good compact camera overall, but I dislike the low 640 x 480 video resolution and it can't zoom while recording a video.

I've tried using my Canon HF100 in the car, but it's a bit too bulky and it doesn't work as well without a wide angle zoom lens.

I'm actually thinking about getting a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 to replace my SD880. It appear to have all the features I want in a not too big size.
