... you are so lucky!

drove my brother in laws Z06(50th anniv) and boy was that thing a monster!

i went 90 in a 40 without a detector...easily... i was in 3rd, WOT @ 40MPH all the way to about 90! does this sound right?

i have never had that much power, definitely need a responsible driver, thats way too much power for the street

I said it before and will say it again....

Real power:
Take a spin on a liter bike.

However I wouldn't mind having a Z06 for the casual trips.

X2. Nothing comes close to a GSXR 1000 or R1. Now that is power. Z06 is as powerful as a peddal bike compared to one of these

600HP is crazy as hell! I got to ride in a 03 Cobra pushing 550 to the wheels and I'll never ever forget that experience!

Cool. So what would you rate the vette on a 1-10 scale after driving it and what did you think it was before you got in it? I agree, you really dont need to much done to the perfectly working stock vette. It allready can take out most street cars, hits 0-60 in 4 seconds and just hauls on the freeway and not to mention handles the twisties with ease.

All the liter bikes are insane in power... I mean heck the ZX-10R tops the charts, then the GSXR-1K, then the R1, then CBR1KRR but if I remember correctly they all have over 165HP, 3over 170HP stock.

Now that is power. Z06 is as powerful as a peddal bike compared to one of these   Now thats the truth.

Z06, On a side note here: Did you by any chance buy the bypass unit (CAGS) for your Z06, to unblock 2nd gear on LOW RPM shifts? I personally can't believe anyone in their right mind would own a Z06 and not do this, but is it hard, or is it something that most enthusiasts do, and is there a noticeable difference?

Thats the same thing people buy for Camaros and Firebirds too right? I drove a 2000 Camro Z28 and when I was just driving chill the damn thing would try skip on me.

What do you all think about the new 2006 Z06's? Sickest Z06 yet. The car is about $65 to 70k but it will take out cars that cost twice that much.

All that's needed is to "cut the green wire". Except if the car has OBDII (96+) then the SES light will trigger. But if you wire a resistor in the line then the SES stays off and the CAGS stays dead :D

The CAGS only activates at less than 21 % throttle, and pushes you into 4th gear. The V8 has so much torque it can take off in 4th anyway so it doesn't affect the performance really since if you were pushing it even a bit the CAGS doesn't activate.

The 'Vette is the best bang for the buck car on the market. Z06 more so.

Nope, I left it as it is. I hardly ever use the 1st to 4th gear shift, but to tell you the truth you really have to be a granny to shift from 1st to 4th or maybe I am just an all time lead foot! It never bothers me or gets in my way unless I am really slowly accelerating in first.

Note: You can also skip 4th and go to 2nd even if the light is showing, it requires a bit more effort though! :D

Absolutely correct.

While I love Z06 Vettes, they are not in the same league as modern liter bikes when it comes to power and acceleration.
