Ok I broke down and bought a V1..... I just got it today and I should have it by Mon-Tues. I might sell my X65 if I like the V1 enough... Geez I feel almost guilty... NOTTTT!

We are going to find out friend! :) I can't wait to see how the V1 preforms! I've been wanting that thing for 5 years now! Btw, I ran into some K band tonight and I wasn't impressed with with the X65's range. He was moving towards me and I would say I had less then 1 mile detection range. Then again I think my X65 is messed up bec it keeps alerting on POP for no reason when I first turn it on. Once I get the V1 I am going to send the X65 in to get checked out.

that is a good idea. Have Bel look it over and see if everything is up and up. My RX65 is steller on all bands, but I would never turn POP on either

Carbon, let us no, if you can, any differences in Ka performance with the newer V1s coming out. But remember, you can't test RDs at the same time. V1 seems to not like other detectors being on causing harmonic or frequency shift issues. So I've read.
The only other thing that might get you upset is due to it's awesome X & K band sensitivity; falsing can drive you nuts in populated areas. But you can use the big L mode and further program it to your liking.

I run mine in Advanced Logic mode with no changes to the programming when in the city, and change it to All Bogeys while on the road.

I will def test test test these 2 RD's and let you know what my findings are. I want to take some video as well, since I do travel about 50 miles round trip per day. Speed traps are heavy in my area, so it should be a great proving ground. My drive is rural to urban, but most of the area I am traveling in is rural. Which is why I think the V1 is going to kick some major a55!!
As soon as I get the V1 the Bel is going to get sent off to get checked out. I won't be running dual RD"s as everything I have read says this is a big no no! I'll keep you guys posted! Btw, does anyone know of a free site you can upload and share video clips on?

Maybe if he runs into K band radar. But if runs into Ka band he is going to say..."is something wrong with my V1? My RX65 was a lot better at detecting Ka" "This can't be right"

I don't know aaseavey. I think you got a bum V1. 33.8ghz ka is only where I see room for V1 improvment. That's easily rectified. 34.7ghz & 35.5ghz are pretty close.

Hey guys to those that are asking about my X65 I might consider selling it after I get it checked out by Bel, but I wouldn't feel right about selling it before I get it checked out bec I think it has some lag issues. I should have the V1 tomorrow and then I am sending the X65 to get checked. After I get it looked I would consider selling it, but it is going to be a few weeks so I can verify things. I really want to ensure the Bel is working and then do some side by side testing (not at the same time of course). Then make a decision about selling. Just want to be fair on honest here.

Run it in Logic mode too (little L)-- unless you are runing all HWY then I would keep it on A.

Ok first road test was tonight on my way to work. I had a few K falses, but it is the same ones that my Bel alerts on. I believe one false was from another RD. Otherwise it was just as quiet as my Bel rx65. The settings were left on default mode for now. And I do like the arrows on the V1, but I wish it had a updated look. However, I have to say I like the alert tone better than the Bel. As far as real radar alerts go, I will have to keep testing before I can say which RD is more sensitive.

More testing...
I turned on the x65 and the V1 in the same car and the V1 went crazy with k alerts. The Bel didn't make a peep until I put the V1 right next to the Bel and then it went crazy with POP alerts.
The drive home from work was about the same as the trip to work. The bogey count is nice on the V1 and I really like the mounting hardware for the V1. The arrows are cool too! All in all the V1 and x65 seem about the same, with the small exception that the Bel might have better filtering in hwy mode vs the A mode of the V1. I know where there is a K band police drone I can test the V1 on today! :)

I just tested the V1 vs the K band LEO drone and all I can say is WOW. I am getting a good deal more detection rang on the V1 vs my Bel on the K band drone. I was VERY impressed with the head on detection, which gave me about 1 mile range in town. The Bel gave me .6, so as far as K band goes I am giving the first victory to the V1.

dont run 2radar detectors at the same time as meaning both on at the same time. u wont get correct testing that way at all.have one rd at on at one time only. :P

Yepp I don't test them at the same time. I had already tested my x65 on the drone, so I knew what kind of range it was getting. I tested the V1 today all by itself. I was really impressed with the K band detection of the V1!! :)
