i've just replaced my goodyear eagle nct 5, they have done 5910 miles the 2 front ones..

which i think is the best ive got from tyres on the vr6...

my father knows a local tyre bloke who owns his own tyre fitting business, and i use to have tyres from him trouble is he has to order my tyres as he doesnt keep the size in stock 205/50/ 15.

because they were rather dear for the michelin exalto but he was £30 cheaper than the rest, i went to a local tyre and exhaust place, the exhausts they fit dont have the proper mounting brackets and on my escort it caused downpipe to snap so many times because of this missing bracket... and they use to say i must be rallying it etc for it to snap as they dont have anyone else returning with this problem....

well a local ford dealer said what i've said and that the exaust was complete cr*p...

anyway i start to have their budget tyres as i was short on money...

and i went once and they didnt have the budget ones but a dear tyre firestone. they were £63 each so i had 2.....

then i went again and they didnt have the budget ones in, and because i needed tyres straight away i had to have theses firestones....

and they were worn out in 1300 mile!!!!

both of them all over they'd looked like they'd been on years for how smooth they'd worn.....

i took them back and the bloke said you will need to speak to the owner of the garage...... he basicly thought i'd been on a drag strip and burned them out, or i'd driven it like a madman even though the tyre wasnt burned for ripped etc i'm sure you can tell when a tyres been wheel spun as rubber rips!!! and these were really smooth!!

i never went back, as it was my word which he wasnt taking.....

so i've been back to the bloke who my father knows and when i had the good years on i did a test and i drove it hard hitting roundabouts hard etc...

and i monitored tyre wear. the result is even though i hit the roundabouts heavy the tyres have still done tripple the mileage the firestones did....

the fact which p***** me off is that when i had the firestones on i hardly drove the car because of the petrol prices etc

i bloody hate people accusing me of doing something which i've not done. obviously he's passing the buck because he knows some tyres may have defective mixture!

and the fact is the good years are only £14 more....... and i think they have super grip and they have worn extremely good....

I dont know about your brand selection over there but I must say if you want good grip id go with Yokohama, bet for me so far, but dont last as long, basically Ive always had a good time on Japanese made tires and a few not so good experiences with American ones learned that as I spun out my dads BMW 325 rolling on dunlops. ive heard goodyear is good though... but for the purpose of comparison I think my next set will be either Toyo or Falken

ive had my BFGoodrich All-terrain K/O's for just over 25,000 miles and they still have appx 60-70% tread left. they are awesome tires.
