Hi,

I live in Germany and bought the Bel Vector 995. I tested it today for the first time. It seems to work pretty good but I get couple of false alarms when I pass a gas station or some stores. They are all K-Band ( I always thought false alarms were only X-Band?? ). Is there a way to minimize these false alarms, or do I have to change the settings?

Also I would like to know how to set the seetings. Which bands do I need to switch on? Is the KU-Ban important for germany?

WOuld be great if someone could help me,

thanks,
Justme

Hi,
actually the K -bands alarms are not false becouse they come in right frequency. The problem is that the automatic door openers work in that freq.
I don't remember do You have Ku in use there - maybe Flitservice could member this?? Ku is used in some camera models.
Im sure that You can switch X-band off.

would be cool, if someone could see which ones I can turn off.
So there is nothing you can do to minimize these K-Band alarms from the door openers?

First on the false alerts

You can reduce the false alerts while in the city, by switching the mode to city mode. Remember to switch to Highway when you are on the highway, more info can be found here: http://www.radarbusters.com/support/maximize-detector/6.asp

Now I would advise to turn on the Ku band and to activate the Ka band for European use. You do this by going into advanced programming by pressing the two buttons on top. There is a quick reference guide in your manual on how to do this

thx for your advice. Switching to City Mode doesn't really minimize the K-Band but the X-Band.

Did you test the Bel Vector 995? How did you feel about it? And how does it compare to the RX-65 and V1?

You are correct on only reducing the X band on city modes, but if you are experiencing these problems, it would be a start.

Again, the door openers that you are having a problem with are on the same band as K band. You can reduce K band sensitivity in advanced mode, but by doing so you are also reducing the K band alerts that you would be getting with K band guns

Hi Roy,

I can't activate a special Ka Band for europe. THere is only one Ka-Band which can be activated, no US and EUROPE feature.
Is there something worng or do I just not know how to find this feature?

No it is not you, it is me

Just got off the phone with Chad at Beltronics.

The V995 does not have the Accscan feature as the RX65 does so there is no need for the US and International setting.

Chad did suggest that everyone set their RX65 to the International mode, otherwise any Ka band guns that maybe out of frequency, would not be detected.

but the Bel 995 works international right?

Yes the 995 is international, but with Ku coming to the US wonder what they will call it then
