Is POP a concern where you live or drive?

I answered no. Not until I have good confirmation that it is used widespread in the Houston and surrounding areas. Although, Texas usually seems to be up to date with some of the latest technology. But, as I have read here repeatedly, it is not reliable. If officers are still required to verify what POP Mode gave them via the traditional mode (instant on), then I will still detect them (in theory!).

Anyone have updated info. for the Houston area?

I have my POP turned off due to the fact I live in rural Arizona. I havent seen a POP alert. Just wondering if POP detection is more of a fad sort of like SWS. Nice but not necessary under most cirumstances.

I've been wondering if the POP thing has been totalled over-hyped.

Pop is like the bird flu. You hear a lot of crap about it but no one around me is getting struck by it.

LMAO.

Voted No. Its impossible to use for writing tickets - so why wouldn't the cop just use instant on?

My local cops have some Enforcer KA units, so I guess it is. However, I ran with POP turned on for probably over a year, never saw them use it once, so it's off for now. Every now and then I switch it back on, and it usually stays on for an hour or so until I start getting sick of the falses.

my small city of richfield ohio has it. i have seen it in use while in the patrol car. so if u ever travel threw richfield ohio, which is by brecksville and akron ohio.... then watch out.

I say NO......... One being that it's not used in my area and the other being they can't use it to issue a ticket. I mean what's the point, why don't they just stick with instant on and save a step in the Ticket process..... Anyways that just my opinion.

No,

they do not even have any laser units up here yet!! So I doubt that any pop-capable units are around.

I can only remember getting 1 alert to KA-Band now that I even think about it. (yes I know pop is valid in K-Band too)

Well, I just got 2 KA-hits last night 3 minutes apart Leavng the Rez. last night, by moving Instant-on. So it looks like the Triabl Police just upgraded from their older K-Band units. I guess it's time to go visit my Tribal detective buddy to see whats new out there

I said yes because I have had true POP encounters in Ohio. Granted they are not "supposed" to issue you a ticket in this mode, but why take the chance. So far it's been about 1 second from POP alert to the true K alert. I'll take the extra second!

Even though Pop is a pain, I voted yes. The reason for this is another part of my state (MI) has POP mode radar and is being used presently. I don't want to miss being POPPED. Yes, the false alarms can be a pain but I really don't get too many. On the V1, I don't get a lot of POP falses. On my Bel V995, I only get a POP false once in while, no big thing. When it goes off though on my Bel, it sure does wake me up.

Not a concern to me, because I don't think it can be used for a ticket in FL. I've not upgraded my V1 to a PoP version either.
