im pretty sure someone said its impossivble to get a reading fromna perpendicular angle..so what would be the purpose of the LEO being in that spot[/img]

well usually when LEOs are sitting perpendicular to a road that theyre clocking, then that means either they have a handheld unit (Bi it RADAR or LIDAR), or they have the RADAR aimed down the road

you get a reading from an angle but this also increases the change of getting a high speed reading due to the cosine error..

As you increase your angle (further from being straight on) you decrease the speed reading obtained due to cosine error.
In this case, since the radar device was Ka meaning small antenna, the LEO probably just swiveled it to point at more of a 45 degree angle instead of being 90 degrees like his cruiser. That's my guess. Or he was wasting his time... assuming he didn't have a handheld (since you can't tell in that video).
