Iv'e looked all over an cannot seem to find any black or darker grey suction cups to save my life. Searched in local crafts stores as well as Ebay. Looking for the stealthiest look possible.
Anyone know where these can be had??

I would just use matte black paint and paint your suction cups. But only paint the part that DOES NOT touch the glass otherwise they wont stick.

You could also try aquarium fish stores. I have seen black suction cups for use in aquariums at fish stores. Not sure it they would work with a radar detector mount though. One place I saw some was at thatpetplace.com. Do a search there for suction cups.

Paint will crack off pretty quick. Cheapie RD's use black suction cups, I know the ones from my old PNI actually fit inside the standard Belscort bracket...

I picked up some black fabric dye from Walmart. They come in little white bottles labeled "RIT". I filled 2 shot glasses with the dye, washed the suction cups real well then let them soak for two days. They come out almost pure black...more of a "dark smoke" color. They've worked real well and you don't mess up the surface tension which keeps it stuck to the windshield.

some have used a permanant black marker on the back to hide the suction cups..

Buy a $20-30 Cobra ESD7000. It comes w/relatively large, black suction cups... plus you'll have something to test your RD with!

I used a black permanent sharpy. Doesnt look ALL black, but pretty close. Couldnt see their reflection when behind the tint, and that was the purpose!

In Texas, as well as in 49/50 states, RDs are fully legal to be used in non-commercial vehicles... so if you are a non-comercial driver, why do you need stealth :?: :?: :?: But if you are a trucker, go to any Wal-Mart store and get a sunvisor organizer and mount your RD btwn the sunvisor and the organizer... also, for truckers as well, hardwire the RD so nobody will ever be able to see any cords from outside... and the best so far is the STI, for banned areas and for truckers everywhere... and it comes with the hardwire kit besides the regular power cord
Best of luck...

Im trying to keep my V1 hidden from thieves not cops. It's hard wired above my rear view right below the tint strip and really the only thing that you can see is the suction cups.

I totall agree I can't stand the white suction cups!! What is beltronics thinking having white suction cups with a stealthy radar detector like the STi.

Black is the way to go.
