According to that there is POP in your state. I will say, however, that could mean that one person one time got an encounter... and the odds of getting hit with POP probably are slim to none. I wish I could help you more, but someone who lives in your state may see this and be able to help more. The odds of POP being a big threat though... aren't very good at all.

I havnt ran into pop. I think pop radar isnt useable to issue a ticket, they can pop you then get you with regular radar, which seems strange to me, also in that thread Air posted that is the bands that are used on the freeway, your city may be diffrent. Welcome to the forum.
P.S. what part of Mn are you from?

Happyass says this best and its in a few siggy's around here:
"You have a better chance of getting struck by lighting, than hit with pop"

even though POP is not to be used as evidence in a speeding ticket trial, Not all leo's play by the rules.
the unit will not lock a POP derived speed, but how many people have actually had a leo let you see the speed reading he alleges you were traveling when ticketed?
I am willing to bet that many people have been ticketed by leo's using the POP-mode. Do you realy expect them to tell you that is what they used? and it is his/her word against yours in court. (maybe video of the officer operating the radar should be forced for a conviction, that would be nice, it would weed out the crookedness of over-zealus cops a little)
There are some real scumbag cops out there. I leave mine active for POP detection, because I haven't had a reason to deactivate it.

I'm using a V-1, so my results may be different from you.
I have never gotten any alert that was not fully verifiable that it came from a leo, or a door opener.
Does the RX-65 get excessively chatty with POP enabled or something?
If no issues are annoying to you with the POP mode on, then why shut it off. I am not aware of any increased distance or sensitivity with that mode off. If sensitivity is increased by disabling POP, then I would think about losing it.
