Actually this is why the V1 falses like a b@s4ard. There's more to making a useful detector than winding the sensitivity up to 11 and saying there you go guys.
Doesn't the AL8 also have the rather useful attribute of actually jamming the laser gun?

I have them both and they're both rubbish against laser just in different ways.
I'm sorely tempted by the AL8 though.

Someone on this forum posted that they got a ticket using a V1 in Va so I had to go with the Sti Oh well guess the V1 is better at laser detection

You don't buy a RD to protect yourself against laser. They will fail you far more than they'll save you.
You buy a laser jammer to protect yourself against laser. If that's too expensive to contemplate you buy Veil and a lasershield and hope.

Yeah but you will be in alot of trouble if they find the laser jammer in your car in Virginia plus they have laser guns now that indicate if they are being jammed or not and plus you can't cover your plate in va either... regardless i'm going to get a blinder installed in my car soon and pray i dont get caught :?

Have you had laser falses with your valentine? Actual true falses? not some infinity with laser assisted cruise control.
I have never ever had a false laser alert on my V-1!! EVER!!
I have never had it alert to trailblazer or cadillac tail lights or break lights, neon, or sunrise or sunset.
The only alerts I have ever had have been from the laser assisted cruise, and I do not consider that a false because it is very close to the same wavelength as lidar.

Well if you massage the definition of "false" for long enough I'm sure you'll be able to claim the V1 doesn't false to laser.
A 30 sec search on the V1 forum with the key words laser and false might make you reconsider.
Anyway I thought you lived so far out in the boondocks you'd never even come across a laser speed trap?

I searched the top 3 forums for "laser and false" and here are the results.
Escort 93 hits
Beltronics 100 hits
Valentine One 166 hits
While Valentine One does have more hits than Escort or Beltronics, that means nothing because the Valentine One forum has 700 more topics
and 10,000 more posts than the Escort or Bel forums so it is all relative.

Sure, I have no problem confirming that Escort and Bel would have more hits on "laser and false" if they hade 10,000 more posts like the V1.

Well the question was "does the V1 false to laser" and as you've so diligently demonstrated the forum says yes.
That the Belscorts false less to laser is well known but thanks for showing that as well.
