I am getting paid this and next week, so I am giving into my addiction and I am going to buy an 8500 non x50. My friends smart cord from his X50 works with my V1 but I cant mute the V1. I have my V1 hardwired and the remote display is hooked into that, I am wondering if I can use this set up for the 8500 or will having the remote display in the mix mess things up?

No Im asking if having the remote display hooked up will keep me from using the V1 hardwire kit. It would be cool though.

The only thing the X50 has different is POP and a possible blue display... the original 8500 is a great detector!

I have done my research, and I know what I want. If I wanted another $300 RD I would go to BBY and get an X50. I want it for a backup, and to see if I like the Escort layout.

A-Town posting.
I must say though, if you can get a good 8500 (like A-Town seems to have), it really is a bargain, they are pretty much right on par with the Top 3/4.. and can be had not for a fraction of the cost... hope you find a good one DogGod
