Police Escort all the way home

Well i was heading home from Huntsville where there are 4 prisons and thats where Texas has their prisoners executed. Well anyways as i was starting my drive home, My x50 reports Ka-band. I was going a good 10 mph over the PSL. Anyways i slowed down and little down the road a group of 6 Motorcycle cops were all filed up one behind each other. Well they all had Ka-band radar running. Well i was so intrigued and had my cell phone camera on me that i wanted to catch back up with them and get some video and pics. After they passed me, i had to go 80 mph just to keep them insight. They were hauling ass. Do Motorcycle cops have rear facing radar? I noticed it was a small head unit. and the outer casing of the antenna had perferated lips. Any idea what unit. I know the had a remote speed indeactor with arrows on it on the handle bar.
Anyways when we got to the next town they pulled in the gas station and i follwed. I shot video but somhow my phone deleted it. Here's a pic of them fueling up.

Two of the other offivers slipped off when i was getting my camera. Anyways before they could finish refuiling they were called and the drove out and blocked the intersection by gas station. Not know what was going on, i pulled out and went toward two officers that went down the road.Well i look in my rear view mirror and i see Texas State Trooper sguad car behind me and 5 Coach USA busses followed by 10 other motorcycle cops.Well i pull over and let them pass and whip back in right behind them. Well folowed them for about 60 miles being able to run every yeild sign, redlight. IT WAS GREAT. Well finally we move on a 2 lane highway and im on the side of the buses and line of motorcycle cops. They saw my x50 in my windshiled smalled and waved and did thumbs up. Not sure what that ment, maybe he was just glad it wasnt a damn crapa. :D . So i got along this hiway for like 3 mile and abotuto rach my exit had to take so i had to whip in right infront of the lead bus and behing the State trooper squad car.

Well after this intersection the cop on the bike that was blocking one of the intersections, zoomed up behind me flashed his lights and told me to move over.

After i did this, again i got right behind the rear protection motorcycles and folowed almost all the way to my house. Being able to cut right infront of all the people that had to pull over, seeing how i was right behind the follow up motor bikes. Well it was quite exciting to follow this, even though it took me a good 20 min longer. Just thought i would want to share it with yall.

It was really neat to actually get to run red lights and not stop the whole way. Others were pulled over on the other side of the road. The rear officers were pertty cool. When the motor cade passed the entersection and the motorcycle cop caught back up i would move over and he just smiled and did the friendly wave. They didnt mind me following them when the lights were red. :roll: :D :D Im so happy. Iwish my other videos would have came in. They were too large to send as email over my phone, and told me i had to shorten them. Well when i tried ,it somehow got deleted. :evil: They were awesome vids especially for being from a camera video. One video was of them at the gas station and i pulled in the stall next to them and rolled down my window and recorded all their bike gadgets. Then the other was of the motor cade as i passed and my x50 showing 2 full KA-bars. Im sure there would have been more but the x50 can only show two ka hits right???

I dont know if it was the same convoy, but I was driving north on IH-10 in San Antonio [NorthWest Side] and saw a very similar/if not same/ convoy. There were 6 Motorcycle Policemen and 2 Squad cars, followed by 4 Coach busses full of people, followed by 4 more Motorcycle policemen and 1 last Black Squad Car. All with lights on. Traffic was far behing the convoy for everyone going southbound that was behind them, there was probably a good 500-750 yards between the convoy and the following traffic. :evil: My Ka Band meter was 100% and I had to mute it was so annoying. The convoy was not moving too fast either, maybe 60-65...I however, on the other side of the concrete wall, was going 75. :lol:

Thats sounds similar. But the convoy i was following was going through San Marcos around 3:30 on I-35 South bound and had 5 coach busses and a few more cops. I follewd them all the way from Huntsville to San Marcos. What a shame that yall couldnt follow close. Maybe they were heading back to or to another prison and already dropped one bus load off.

Yeah it wasn't any kind of dinky school bus or anything it was a real long distance travel bus with nice tinted windows. But all 4 of them were full of people, and something tells me they were inmates...I dont quite know what it was though :lol:

Ya the windows were tinted. Idk, i didnt get it either. But why else would they have 5 coach buses and 15-16 motorcycle cops and two state trooper squad car. Also they made sure when we wer on two lane highways after i accidently got sandwhiched, not to let anymore ppl drive on side of motor cade.

I saw something similar about 3 weeks ago on my way down to Louisiana. We were in Gerogia when my RD started going off so I started looking around and about 10 seconds later on the other side of the highway here they come down the road. 2 GSP up front with lights on and 2-3 USA Coach buses with 2 more GSP behind them :o

I never really thought about that. I wouldnt be supprised, but even though it is a NFL team, could they really stop traffic and make them trail like 500 yards behind? The one I saw was a convoy with police front and back and then the traffic having to trail pretty far behind. Unfortunately, becuase of my 75 Hwy MPH I traveled past them in a pretty short amount of time.

It was IH-10 at nearly 5:30, TRAFFIC crazy, so maybe it was a football team.

On I-75? On Sep 2nd, UGA played Western Kentucky and GA Tech played Notre Dame. Both games were played in Georgia. However, the UGA game was played in the early afternoon, while the Tech game was played that night. I think both visiting teams would have used I-75 to return home.

I was driving south on the southeast expressway from Boston and noticed no cars on the northbound side, then as I came to onramps on the northbound side there were state troopers blocking cars from entering the expressway. Few seconds later I saw the Patriots buses with police escort heading towards Logan airport. So, yes they can do this. (I think it was for the playoffs 2 years ago, I doubt it happens week in week out.)
