Just curious if one would rather have the original 8500 for the next three years or any cobra detector that you want, including the latest and greatest :lol: .

I chose Cobra, just because I really don't drive that fast. Also, so I can try something different here and there.

original 8500 for sure. It blows away any Cobra in radar detection performance.

by the test results I would say a cobra just because it gives me a little more protection :shock: :shock: :roll:

Personally used a top of the line cobra, purchased this month. Cannot even compare to any other detecte seen or out there at a comparable price. Switched and got Beltronics v895 on sale at radioshack for 149.99. Best 150 bucks I ever spent. From personal expirences I have had with both, there is no comparison, I would return or get rid of the Cobra and get a Escort/V1/Beltronics/Whistler/ANYTHING but cobra. They are the worst detectors around.

Only thing worse than a Cobra or BG Tech is RMR.

well i hate to break it to you but you can get a Bel 940 from circuit for 150 ad i think its better then the 895

Only thing worse than a Cobra or BG Tech is RMR.

I own two cobra radar detectors and if Ka radar is used you might as well be without a radar detector have tested several models through the years, cobras tend to be tone deaf when it comes to detecting Ka on an angle, never mind over all Ka detection gives minimum warning at best, you get what you pay for.
On X,K band range even the cheapest radar detectors will generally give enough warning time. I own several Cobra radar detectors and all of them are tone deaf when it comes to Ka detection. I have ran my stalker Ka radar gun from the side and tried several radar detectors one at a time. The best gave several hundred feet of warning and the Cobra radar detectors didn't not sound an alert even after I passed through the beam. The better units have much better sensitivity to instant on radar and non- linear signals.

X2. what are you? an idiot? :lol: Heres an equivalent question. Should i buy a 1992 Civic with a huge wing on the back, a body kit that isnt painted, dual fart can exhaust, and altezza tail lights. orrrrr a 2004 Acura TL, for the same price..... :lol: 8)

It's apparent to me that this person has not read this forum enough to find the 100's of Cobra Bashers around here...... or ...... he did read it and is just playing some kind of joke.... I think he saw the cobra bashing because of the way he worded it.. "BEST COBRA" as if that makes ANY difference at all. :lol: :lol: :lol:
well i'd have to go with the king cobra off course, NOT!! anything but the cobra but if i'd have to choose between rmr and cobra...., it's probably better to save the money for ticket

I voted for the Escort....I had a PNI silver Bullet and that sucked compared to the STi.....And from what I have heard the Cobras are worse.
I would go with the Escort!
