The bel 796i, would be the only one worth it, cobras are not worth a cent

Do you have a Radar Detector DOUG?
I like the fact that you got your caps lock key fixed.

Ha ha, yes i bought a piecea whistler1730 for 20 bucks last week...its a pretty cool ittle piece though i have never been alerted to late..
I know what your thinkning, i want the v-1 but the updates, and i just wish they would make a new v-1 and be done with it.
Thats when I will buy a 400$ toy, when they fix there problems and be done ....
what maybe could I use or purchase that would be a nice rd, but not so expensive, maybe a older rd ???????????

You know not many of the new V1's have problems, I have the first update that caused this whole thing and my unit works perfect. Just remember if you buy right from VR and anything goes wrong they will take care of you.
Also the X50 is a great RD, as good as the V1 in many aspects have you considered that one. You can buy those right from Radar Roy at www.radarbusters.com and again if something goes wrong radar roy will help you out. I would quit wasting your money on these Rd's if you are planning on getting a top-3/4.

Buying electronics at a pawn shop (that's where you got the whistler if I remember right?) is a big game of russian roulette. It might work, it might not. Something might have been done to hamper the detection range or detection of certain bands. If you have to buy an RD either buy it from a store or online.

X2 not to put down pawn shops, but I cant see buying anything like this that you have to count on so much from a pawn shop!

I would watch out buying any of the one's listed. The only problem w/ the Bel 715sti is that the radar bands can some times just stop working. I had k band false constantly on one that I used to own. I couldn't even try and modify that unit. It went in the garbage!

I would stay away from any detectors that you find in a pawn shop
