X band in itself doesn't annoy the crap out of me. Even the falses don't annoy the crap out of me.

THE FRICKEN CELL PHONES. My detector would go off 1 time every minute and anytime I was on the phone it would go off the entire time. As I got into low "range" areas it would get to 3 and 4 "x" band alerts at once.

I know we talk about this from time to time on why to keep x band on. I had turned mine on just because, but now I find out my cell phone is one of these stupid X bands. It had to go back off.

:-(

Anyone else got one of these piece of crap phones. Maybe we can start a list for those that are in for getting a new phone and possibly have X band threat in their area - they don't get one of these phones.

I want a laser-phone! Of course, they don't work on rainy days....

Hey bauzer, my Samsung from Verizon sets off X band on my V1, Bel 995, and some of my older rd's that I have. I know how you feel. Try keeping it in a center console or in the back seat. I usually use my rd's w/ X band off but about once a month I turn it back on to "test it out". Watch out though bauzer, many parts of the U.S and Canada are slowly going back to X band. I can attest that Ohio is the "king" of X band. If X band bothers you while traveling thru Ohio, use advanced-logic mode on your V1. It filters X band very well. :)

How sure are you of this? Any idea why?

Because its a cheap gun and with more and more crunches in budges this is a great option for the LEO's to get "new guns" and be 1000 dollars cheaper a piece.

Why - also because we as RD users have always just ignored X band and with good reason unless you're in certain areas of the country. So with many of us simply ignoring or turning it off - you might as well aye?

heck, xband guns can be bought for just a few hundred dollars HH or Dash Mount...so yea, good prices there! and in small towns...esp. with instant on, probably just as effective as K or Ka band guns.

my v-1 goes off with NO cell phone I have ever used.

Everyone's mentioned x band falsing uses verizon phones, I'm assuming this must be something to do with how CDMA works and/or the frequencies used for the phones. I suspect sprint pcs phones probably false as well. X band sucks, I don't know why any law enforcement office would even use X band -- 1) all detectors detect it, it's not like cops know you're turning x band off deliberately, and what the hell would be the point of catching the small percentage of drivers that have X band turned off? and
2) it sucks, much better equipment is available.

I leave x band turned off, it's as worthless as S-band :D

xband (or any band, for that matter) is only as good as the operator. xband can be pretty deadly, too. just ask the folks in states that have xband still. :)

I'm in NJ and have to leave on X-band. I've always had Moto phones and Bel/Escort detectors with no interference whatsoever.

North Carolina's State Troopers normally run Ka, but they also run X band, the K55 units.

New Jersey, Ohio, and North Carolina are the three big X band states on the East coast. If you travel in these states I suggest you ditch your cell phone and leave X band enabled.

I still have X Band enabled.
