Do you plan to put your v1 in a jet fighter or something? Maybe get a convertable and drive with the top down at 140 mph. You want to get some real strong suction cups go to an auto supply store and get some of those "dent puller" suction cups...! 8)

I once bought a dent puller adverticed on tv and it had a hell of a suction cup set up. You can find these occasionally in retail stores. CVS was even selling them at one time..

I got the ones for my x50 from b&b hardware, its a local store, but I'm sure there are hardware stores around you that have them, if not, try googling it.

^ There is an online source to get the cups, measure away.
If you want to see how mine look: http://n3t.bounceme.net:2525/countermeasurefreaks/x50.html

1. Clean your windshield with Windex w/ amonia.

2. Clean your suction cups with water.

3. Mix water and soap (dish or hand soap)

4. Dunk the suction cups into the soapy water

5. Apply to the Windshield.

Solved.

Didn't you get extra cups with your V1?? :?

What's wrong with the original suction cups?
VR gave me 2 small and 2 large! Maybe you should consider some epoxy?
Or are you hanging a one foot tall dancing Elvis, or 10 inch disco ball off your V1?

I went to Home Depot and got some suction cups today in the shelving section. They have metal hooks on them (which I took off) and are designed for holding frames/pictures to glass or windows. The packaging says they each hold up to 1 lb. and they seem more "robust" than the ones that came with my X50.

I got them because I like my X50 mounted above the mirror and my windshield has those 'black dots' up there so makes using the other suction cups kind of tough. I'll let you know how these work out, but so far they seem to be working quite well. Cost was about $1.50 for four.

I used some that you get to stick strings of Christmas lights to the inside of a window. Dirt cheap and they're a great replacement for Whistler units.
