I think I may get my V1 today! I can't wait. Wanted one since 1992. Sad it took me all these years. Figured my Cobra deserves the best. Love the board guys thanks for teaching me so much. :D
Are you waiting for that since 1992? You should be the most patient man of the world!

I know that feeling. I'd been eying a V1 since high school but didn't have the money until I graduated from college and got my job.

I questioned the merit in spending $400 for a detector for a LONG time. It was a mistake to put off the inevitable. It is the cheapest $400 I've ever spent!

Country Companies charges me $35 a month extra for the initials SVT on my mustang. Bastards. I waited for a returned V1 to save $50. Hopefully no regrets.

Why not? I have police interceptor badging on my 93 Chevy Caprice LTZ.

I think davekr was saying his insurance was higher because he drives an SVT Mustang Cobra.?
Putting badges on a car they don't belong on, in my opinion is fakery. It's a free country though, and folks can do what they want.

Or you could pull the SVT off a Focus, or a 150...

Do you really think I would pay $35 for a fake SVT badge?????? I am not that dumb. I drive an 01 Cobra with a 160mph factory speedo. Got my V1  Going to take it and try it out!!!

naa. I don't think that. I was just stating that SVT is a line encompassing a lot of vehicles.
Most people who put fake badges/stickers on their cars don't actually pay the extra insurance fees.
One of my friends had a stock '01 Stang, with Boss and Shinoda stickers/scheme all over it.
He ended up getting a Stang SVT this year. I'm so proud of him! ;-)
Do you have a nice stretch of road to open it up on? I have this nice 130 mile stretch between El Paso and Carlsbad with no lights, and a limit of 75 MPH through most of it. Once you get through the Customs checkpoint it's easy to get to stay around 110-120 for a while. A couple slow down points as you go through mountains. There are even some salt flats on both sides at one point. I wouldn't try them out though. I'm heading up that way this weekend
Have fun!

According to Ford press releases, the number of currently produced SVT vehicles may grow to 5 in a year or so. The Contour, Focus, F150 Lightning, Ford GT, and Mustang Cobra's that were made may have some new SUV's and other vehicles joining them.
I move my V1 between my 3 SVT vehicles, but I'm considering getting a remote display and using the hardwire kit on my daily driver for a lower profile install.
When I moved from CA to FL 2 years ago, I drove across that stretch of I-10 that goes through the rocky west. Incredible distance on radar signals and lots of vision did tempt me to open it up a little, but the knowledge that if you did wreck, you'd probably bleed out before help got there and got you to a hospital was a reminder not to be too foolish.
I also am not as good at spotting the TX DPS Trooper pickups as I am Crown Vics and Impalas. 8)

Ford GT available now and 1 more year I think.
Ford Shelby Cobra GT500 to be out in '06
Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin to be out in '07
other stuff not yet announced, but widely speculated.
As of yet, no factory installed radar detector or laser jammer options.
Other than the 05 Mustang, sales at Ford aren't doing as well as last year.
