Interstates, whether its urban or rural........... sometimes some main roads in city but most of my speeding (thus my tickets) have been on the interstates......... never speed in residential areas im on my own little 5 UNDER policy there

Recieved my first one on a side street. Motorcycle cop. Dont know what he used. Didn't have a RD at the time. Have not had any since(knock on wood)

I've gotten pulled over about 15 times (all for speeding) with 4 tickets (two appealed :p)
Most of them were on the highway and I got clocked from behind by a marked cruiser.
My first ticket was a laser on the main street of a rural area.
My second ticket was laser in CT on Interstate 95 (speed limit 55, wtf?) I hate CT.
3rd: clocked from behind on I95 in MA
4th: Radared in my mom's car, didn't have an RD. Main street in Boston. I have only seen radar in Boston ONCE and I didn't have an RD..
Most of my other pull overs have been in a rural area, most cops in rural areas run a lot of constant on as well. There's a lot more traffic enforcement in rural areas, they have nothing better to do. My X50 has saved me SOOO many times in rural areas!!! The other times I got pulled over there was no radar and no ticket but happened in rural areas. My X50 has failed me ONCE when it alerted to a Ka constant on too late. My X50 has saved me twice from Instant On in rural NY among many other saves from constant on K and Ka.

This is a little wierd but I document my saves and tickets in my vehicle log book. I think it helps me remember things I should have noticed if I got stopped and maybe helps me target enforcement patterns I may not be noticing. Or maybe I'm just strange.
TICKETS
1. 7/11/05 8:34 A.M.
I was listening to my stereo too loud and rolled right into a speedtrap. After I spotted the blue and white I looked at the SR7 display and it was full K but I couldn't hear the alert over the stereo. I ordered the external speaker the next day and mounted it center of the transmission tunnel between the seats. HPD crown vic was left lane facing traffic, obscured by a hill shooting cars as they came into view. Approx range 500 ft.
2. 7/27/06 8:50 A.M.
Was hit by HPD with a ProLaser III around 1,200 ft. LEO was shooting outside his vehicle from behind a building. Can't comment further on this since the case is pending

Both of mine have been on the open highway.
Both because I was simply speeding stupid. Sure, I didn't have any countermeasures in one instance, but I did turn off my brain, and there was simply no excuse for that! :oops:

GSP many years ago. I had a Uniden back then. What was I thinking?
About 14 and 15 years ago from the same LOE, Winslow Twp, NJ, White Horse Pike just east of the railroad overpass. I was drivinga Ford Explorer at the time. I think he was picking on me!!!!!!!!!! :) :)

The last one (that I got convicted for) was in a school zone. My last 3 pull overs where on 4 lane highways.

radar @ night times- mains streets in an urban area and thats why im here. =)
I would've got a speeding ticket today b/c i was late for work. But guess kept me from mashing the padel in the mustang??? the v940 alerted me from far back with KA warning in a common false X alert area so i knew something was fishy. I stayed below the speed limit and the v940 was right on the point... down the road and over the hill/bridge was a cop in the middle of the street on the divider thingie shooting traffic rofl.
I think ill keep this handy dandy $150 detector.

Just back home from court.
The cop didn't show. I pled guilty. Got the fine still of 160$ but PBJ.
Still kinda mad wondering if i would have pled not guilty if it would have gotten thrown out.
But I was going down a hill in a 50. LEO got me with something.. I guess constant on cuz you really cant tell 73 in a 50. MAYBE YOU CAN. I dono but he was coming at me and then pulled a U-EEEE.
YAY FOR MY x50 now I jsut got

same situation here kind of. I hope my ticket is cheap as yours when i go to court but anyways i got a radar detector now! :( How long did you have to wait for your court date?

i got my ticket 2 feet from my neighborhood. Cop lit me up right before i turned in my neighborhood, and i thought about runnin in through the gate lol. i kind of screwed myself over witht the ticket by admitting i was going too fast, but he just wrote me up for not using my turn signal ( but i am sure as hell that i used that turn signal, but he said i didnt....)

My court day was about a month wait? And the fine should be on your ticket. Now depending on what kind of judge you get, and if the cop shows and all depends on the fine in the end. If it's your first ticket you will probably get PBJ, but still have to pay the fine. If not, you could get points + fine :? No, I really don't touch mustang forums too often. Every once in a while I get on VW vortex hah thats about as close as I get.
AND OUCH alias3rx. A few things i've learned
1. Never admit
2. Never consent to searches
3. When I see a cop, I turn and go the other way ROFL. It's pathetic but true.

The reason I posted this poll was to see how many people reporting getting ticketed happened to live in rural areas as opposed to urban areas. 13/18 or 72% of you that got tickets received them in rural areas and 5/18 or 27% received them in urban areas. Are RDs in urban areas all that useful considering that traffic often limits drivers to or just below the PSL?
