I know you guys dont like cobras, but I had an interesting experience this weekend. I run a cobra xrs9330 in my wifes car and got a nice ka save this weekend. About a 1/2 mile away and it gave me plenty of time to slow down. I was impressed.

i have the same cobra, works great for me on KA bands like you were saying... definitly worth the 50$ in my opinion...

Yeah as long as it gives plenty of time to safely slow down then its worth it. but for how much they sell cobras for i wouldn't touch one, like their slogan says, nothing comes close to a cobra.

I went from a 9330 to an x50 and I have to admit I wasn’t all impressed at first. Took me about 2 weeks to finally see some performance out of it for the $200 more price tag.
With constant Ka the longest alert I had with my cobra was about 1 mile. It was a onetime thing, where the conditions were just right. Usually on flat roads with the LEO somewhat in the open I’d receive about ¼ to ½ warning which was enough for my driving style. If the LEO hid behind an overpass, or somewhere in the bushes I maybe had 2-3 sec. warning with the Cobra. Nowhere near enough time.
With the x50 I now have an avg. of ½ mile or more warning. I’ve gotten warning well over a mile, but so far nowhere near 2 miles. And with a LEO hidden well the 2-3sec. warning I used to get with the cobra have turned into 5-10sec. with the x50.
So all in all the Cobra wasn't that bad. If your a resonsible driver just wanting warning to check yourself a Cobra does fine.

Me too. Mine works great. It's the $150.00 model. I get great range on the Ka radar and instant on! 8)
However laser detection needs to be better. That's why I'm getting the $400.00 V-1. It picks up trace laser fragments. I live in CA. The last 5 encounters I've had have all been laser. And laser is NEVER a false, never - so one little blip and you know there is a cop up the road.
The Cobra has served me really well. No tickets! :D I would probably stay with them if they were as good on laser as Valentine. I had 2 close calls on the Cobra - both with laser. Third times a charm. :wink: Time to get a Valentine One.
