When someone says "ROADTRIPP"

Is the first thing you think of -- The ladies you'll pick up?
Or is the first thing -- When can you get your RD to but in their car?


Well.. for me. Since the purpose was to pick up the ladies, RD was number 2. I know I am not the only sick freak who gets excited to take his RD on a roadtrip. Just lookin out for my buddies :D

I feel kinnda weird mentioning bringing my RD to other people. Don't feel like explaining to them why it's going off in front of Walgreens, why it didn't go off when that cop passed, why it's making that annoying beep for so long (long range) :P ...etc, etc

I'll only take it along with my real close friends (as opposed to acquaintances). They understand the "basics" and my addiction ;)

Then again, when there is a "roadtrip" I am usually the one who volunteers to drive. I like to drive, and don't like the feeling of being naked out on the road when I'm in someone else's car :? I know, I'm a sad case :oops: :lol:

Ladies first......always. About the RD, depends on who's driving.

But yeah, roadtrips are fun, one of my random trips ended up at giant field party in the middle of nowhere. Speaking of which, i'm overdue for a good roadtrip :lol: .

My last roadtrip (WI to FL & back) I had my older brother that thought RD's only beeped after the cop had your speed. (I explained IO to him so he thought he was partially correct)

Well for a 50 yr old guy with many speeding tickets for ridiculously low amounts over PSL. I always suggested a high-end RD. He always stated "they don;t work"

He has now changed his mind on RD's. the guy was actually amazed once i got to explaining what it was telling me. at the first beep he would tell me to slow down, and after a low alert for over 1 mile it started ramping up, then I would back off the gas a bit, low & behold, no tickets and did the drive in less than 20 hours for a normal 24-25 hours trip.

he is now a believer, as for people that ride with me that know nothing about detectors. I keep the volume low, and don't even bother explaining.

Yes, I do hate having to explain why my RD goes off at walgreens.
And them asking "THAT WAS A COP WHY DIDNT IT GO OFF"

IT'S NOT A COP DETECTOR.

I even knew this before knowing much at all about RD's.

But yeah I always have to sit shotty when it's in other peoples car to decide if it need a mute or not.

I agree, you don't bring them.........you find them along the way. Sure enough, we did happen to find some and ended up a getting invited to a giant field party. Best roadtrip ever..........

Correct thats my x50 in my friends benz. Though I can kinda see how it looks like an STi there.
Its funny because all the cops we passed -- my friends say this to -- on 95, we almost never pick them up. It's like they are just driving around, then turning on the emergency shoulder and sitting for a few minutes scratching their butts then moving again.
