Coming South on 431 from Muncie to Indianapolis yesterday. My friend drives it back and forth to work every day so knows where to expect the falses. As we were coming back it started going off in an area he was not expecting one in. Now we didnt look to see how far back, but it felt like a good mile when we finally came across the state trooper shooting K at us while sitting on the side of the road. I was impressed at how far back it picked him up with lots of traffic in front of us. Someone in a pickup truck next to us appreciated it as well and waved as they went by because they slowed down too.

Earlier in the day we were going along Southport road at Madison Rd and it started going off with multiple bogeys near a Walgreens and a bank. Neither of us thought a lot about it because my X50 falses there too. But, the signal kept growing stronger this time and just as we passed the Walgreens and bank, the arrow still pointed forward along with back and side. Sure enough, we go buy a large building and there he was shooting our direction. Great location for him as anyone with a RD would just assume the drug store was making it go off.

Now, that being said, I still think for my personal driving where I am in town more that the X50 may be more my speed. His V1 alerted us to every grocery store door and cheap rd within about a block radius. While in town I could see that starting to get annoying.

I did love the arrows showing where the alert was coming from and liked the bogey counter as well.

I'm considering hard wiring my X50 to my bike and hiding it under the fairing. If I do that, I'll want another detector for my car and still can't decide if I want another X50 or the V1. I'm split about 50/50 on this one.

Thoughts?

you got one X50 why not get a V1??? I have both....lol..but then maybe one will grow on you more than the other one and that could possibly lead to a problem.....

As much as the V1 picks up everything, I think on a bike it would get REALLY annoying. In the car however, where you can actaully look at the display and read the arrows and number of incoming hits, the V1 might be ok.

And, I guess, since the V1 has that 30 day return policy, maybe that is the route to go. If I don't like it, I can just send it back right?

I have a V1 and X50, the V1 IS NOT a good bike detector ( I have tried it).

yeah u can always send the V1 back in the 30days.
