Is it just the 8500 x50 in a consealed form is it better or ????

Well in Roy's testing the 8500 had better radar range by about 3 tenths of a mile. A very plausible explanation could be since the antennas are mounted lower, there is less line-of-site with the targeting radar.
So I wouldn't doubt that they are very similar...
