Radar Noise A Threat???

What do you think of radar noise. Sounds scary but also sounds like with a little smartness it can be detected in a number of different ways. Whats your take???????

You can be licensed only on so many bands for your equipment. This stuff is more expensive to produce and has never been deployed before for use in traffic monitoring--this would be a potential court hurdle. It has already been around for years, but the technology just isn't practical for such simple use.

By the way, I don't like the idea of the cops (hired by us to do jobs for us) being so crafty and spending lots of public funds on expensive equipment just to be sneaky.

And whatever they say, there are ways to detect and jam ultrawideband "white noise" RADAR.

By the way, have you ever read about passive or long-wave RADAR? Think about using only a receiver or transmitting at frequencies used by television stations... It can be done, but it isn't feasible and would be stupid to market. The cops get someone about every time--it just isn't worth it.

CDMA has been around for years, never used for RADAR. I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Correct me if I am wrong, but some of the radar guns have a "standby mode" where they are still emitting a small amount of signal.
This may be why you don't pick up leo until your are very close.
It seems the older guns are like this.
I've had that experience at one time or another with just about every detector I have ever owned.
Haven't had it with the V1 yet though because I haven't encountered that situation yet.

I get into that situation almost every time a CA CHP car gets behind me, even at stop lights I get a faint Ka hit. I thought they were altering their output power, but maybe they leak or - as Escort said to me - they have a constant on Ka for their forward speed. I don't get the signal while sitting aside them or behind them, only when they are behind me.

Their patrol bikes don't do this. Maybe it is the age of their equipment. When I look at some of the patrol bikes that come for service to the dealer I notice some independent departments have far newer and less trashed looking equipment than the CHP. Must be some budget issues going on with the State.

The scary part was one cop (Camarillo City Police I think) said they were looking into using some radar gun from the University of Georgia (?) that was undetectable to any detector as it emitted a random noise along with the radar signal that make the detector's filtering miss it. I need to research that a bit more...

It even sees through walls and trees to get speed! Undetectable Random Noise Radar. Great! Being cheap at <$100 this cannot be good. :(

I really woudln't worry about this new radar technology. If there is a will there is a way. Laser is supposedly the most potent form of technology but they ended up beating it with veil and laser jammers.

First tanks were invented, then anti tank rounds, then tanks with thicker armor.

If there is a will there is a way. I wouldnt worry about it.

If random noise is normally ignored than RD mgf would simply start tuning the rd to detect it. I know there is much more to it as I'm not an engineer.

However, as I said before.

If there is a will (money to be made), there is a way.

Thats if Leo's even start using it. It states the technology isn't even perfected yet. I can also smell a high margin of error like pop has.
