Should i up-grade my 1.5 year old STi?

Agreed. . . if there isn't anything wrong - than definitely not. If it shows signs of weakness - send it in for repair.

Actually, it's working fine as far as i know. Would it be to presumptuous to send my STi in for a check up though?

There isn't anything to tune up or check up. If your unit is working then why spend the money to accomplish nada. These units perform multiple self-tests and self calibrate. There are no internal manual adjustments for technicians to play with. Save your money.

I've had 2 different Bel's "tuned up" in the past. Back in the day there was some adjusting that could be done by the tech's--I had a 966St come out of the shop with blazing performance--in fact the tech told me it was actually now more senstitive than factory specs.

Let me repeat, there are NO internal manual adjustments on the STi. Older Beltronics units did have various tuning/adj features, but that's all gone now. The STi is fully self calibrated.

So when will Bel have the 33.8 bug fixed on the STi so I can send both of mine in?
