I have been trying to figure out, what the lengeth is of the LI head. I was hoping that they are small enough to fit in my grill without having to cut anything...

The length of the unit housing is 8 cm.
The mounting plate at the rear is 10 cm

It was more for my convenience. Figured if I ever needed to find the dimensions of the LI head, I wouldn't have to convert them later. It's just a coincidence the OP also live in the US (fellow Floridian) where they use inches.

When I emailed and asked LI the same question, I was given a different response:
Normal head: 100 x 34 x 15,5 mm
Slim head: 100 x 25 x 15,5 mm
Also, in both cases, which is width and which is depth?
Whereas I want a head that is not as tall as a blinder/no taller than my 904 I just realized they may be referring to a slimmer depth than a slimmer height...in that case these things are extremely thin. So which is it? I'm used to the my 904's depth of a few inches.

Width: 100mm
Height: 15.5mm
Depth: 34 or 25mm
These things are amazingly small, regular or slim.

Ah, so they are simply not as deep, which I don't really care about (I am more concerned with height, which doesn't change)
I just measured my Bels and they are 14-15mm h x 102w so the LIs will have no problem fitting in the same spot where the bels fit snugly.
Not saying I'm upgrading just yet but I'm obviously considering it. :)

If my ZR3's front heads are similar to your Bel's, then yes, you're precisely right, the LI's are just a fraction smaller from side-to-side, and much more "shallow" in terms of depth (even for the standard model).
I've got my ZR3's front heads "slaved" to the underside of my LIs, and this is precisely what I see.
Actually, the ZR3's are so much "deeper" that their mounting brackets clear and are able to curve "back and up" over the rear of the LIs.

Yes, the ZR3, LP905 and LP905 all use the same heads.
I don't even use the brackets, mine literally sandwich perfectly between my grill slats and are just held in with epoxy. :)

^ Cool beans. :)
That's actually how I mounted my LPP heads in my upper/main grill. Its dimensions were perfectly suited for my grill's "slats" in that area. A single layer of 3M Automotive Trim tape holds the heads in there so securely that it takes a tremendous act of violence to remove them.
