I was cruising down the turnpike (Oklahoma loves em) about 15 miles outside of Tulsa and I see a Motorcycle on the opposite side of the road with a guy standing in front of it pretty much out in the middle of nowhere...and so I happened to slow down only because I was thinking the guy might have a flat tire or be out of gas...maybe need some help ya know.

Turns out it was a Motor Officer for the city of Broken Arrow shooting hand held laser...I don't know what kind but it was a totally round unit and he was sure trying to hold it steady...there was only one car coming at him on the other side and I kept my speed down cause I'm in a Silverado and figgered I'm a easy target for him to practice on going away...STI never made a sound!

I didn't turn around and get a run at him for further evaluation because it's a stupid toll road. My STI is mounted right in the middle of the windshield under the RVM so it *could* see scatter from behind in a perfect world...

Oh well...just FYI....I'm thinking LPP jammer...I was wanting a 9500 later this year to play with but it might be better to get my priorities straight.

The only way to defeat laser is with a jammer. It's very difficult for any RD to get a real laser warning. And if it does, more times than not you're the one being hit.

I have never got a alert of laser on the STI unless i was being hit. Gotta love that cb radio for the warning he was there before i got shot. Ohio toll road sitting in the middle.

How do you know he shot you at all? If you slowed as you said then he probably didnt bother. I've had excellent laser response from the Sti

I can honestly say I got a laser save 2 weeks ago LEO under bridge on I-95 on right side of the road in FL, shot a car about quarter mile ahead of me. I knew it was laser since I've had laser falses near Ft Lauderdale's airport. I really wasn't too far over the limit so I just eased off a bit.... then I got shot hard about 10 seconds later. Straight line of sight and he was using a hand held, not a tripod so I guess I got some splatter. Florida used to not use that much laser since they want to keep their cars rolling for more exposure. I guess the rise in gas prices may of changed their reasoning.

Just came back from a trip to the Delaware Beaches this weekend.

LEOs where all over route 1 from 95 to Rehoboth Beach. At one point a LEO was on an overpass and they were pulling cars over 5-6 at a time! Another LEO 15 miles later was shooting Laser from the center medium.

For the Laser, by the time detector went off I could see the LEO, so if I was speeding probably would have been too late.

At the beach, LEO's were using Ka in town so had more time to slow down.

So that was a total of 3 speed traps in 70 miles of driving!
