I think I had that same rev # that you have. How is it working for you? are you happy with the results?. Have you used it alot since you got it?.

I bought it new in Jan 2001. Been happy with it, but it is the only detector I've ever had, so I have no point of reference. MY only issues are with Escort's garbage customer service and the fact that I was lied to as to it's upgradability. When it finally dies, I am ging to a V1.

Yes I do agree that Escort does have very bad customer service.

Before you buy any other detector I think its worth that you at least take alook at the 2005 SML test. SML is the most trusted and unbias detector test out there. See this link

Don't listen to Radarboy12312, he is a troll....GET THE V1 because it beats every radar detector in true 360 degree protection.

I,am just giving out my opinion on this issue .

Now what does this have anything to with me being a troll?

Just for the record I,am not a troll.

CMI had superb customer service. Alas, I am getting old. Time for my nap.

IMO you should wait and see the radar test the Guys of Lidar are doing at the end of this month. It is supposed to cover all bands of radar and possibly different real world scenarios. It sounds as though it might be more thorough so if you can wait on your purchase it might be worth taking a look at.

Make sure your choice is upgradeable to KU band should the threat become a reality.

My 8500 still works, so I dont intend on UPGRADING to a V-1 until either it dies or it is rendered useless by a threat that Escort refuses to come out with an upgrade for.
