I want to send my X50 to escort to see if I could get a Rev. 6, how much would this cost?

As far as I know the Rev5 was the highest for the S7 platform, so you can not get higher. I might be wrong?

yeah I think the 6.1 was the first on the M4 platform

My Rev5 Blue is at Escort now. The way I understood it when talking to them on the phone, once a 5 always a 5. They may update software, replace existing hardware.
So I think the only way to update to a 6 is take 80 dollar trade in from Escort or sell it and buy new.

In terms of changing a REV 5 X50, DO NOT CHANGE FROM A REV 5 TO A REV 6. The Rev 5 is the best of all the X50 models, handsdown. You can always get a checkup/calibration check, but changing from a Rev 5 to a Rev 6 is not recommended. Please take my old timer advice!

Yes as said above, once a Rev 5 always a rev 5. I would kill to change my 6.3 to a Rev 5. When I sent mine in for a tune-up it came back a Rev 5. They will not swap the guts out.

To upgrade you would have to buy a new one.

So, if you sent it in it will get a tune up but remain a rev 5. As the other stated The guts would have to be swapped to be a Rev 6.1 and higher, which would only be done if the rev 5 was not repairable.

You would need to buy a new unit. The Rev 5 which i believe your talking about uses a S7 horn and the Rev 6 and above use the M4 horn. In a sense they are 2 totally different detectors with the same name.
So send in your Rev 5 to be tuned up keeping the same Rev #. Or upgrade to a new M4 Rev 6.3.

It was $60 to tune/repair my Rev 5 X50. I had been getting self cal and service required but its been fine for months since then. Range is better than ever!
