OK. Took some work to figure out how to post images here, but I promised I'd get the camera out and shoot some shots of the installation on my car, so here they are.

The Car:
http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/738/escortpassport9500ci0xv0.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/738/escortpassport9500ci0xv0.45a61b6e68.jpg (http://g.imageshack.us/g.php?h=299&i=escortpassport9500ci0xv0.jpg)
2007 Corvette Z06. Sorry, no bikini girl on it today.

Front Corner:
http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/1135/escortpassport9500ci1oh1.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/1135/escortpassport9500ci1oh1.fa495626d5.jpg (http://g.imageshack.us/g.php?h=244&i=escortpassport9500ci1oh1.jpg)
That rectangular shiny thing on the front spoiler (black plastic) is the laser shifter. Subtle, but you can spot it if you're looking for it.

Head On:
http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/7741/escortpassport9500ci2av7.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/7741/escortpassport9500ci2av7.822fb507a9.jpg (http://g.imageshack.us/g.php?h=207&i=escortpassport9500ci2av7.jpg)
I cranked up the shadow detail so you could see the little black rectangular box behind the grill dead center. That's the radar detector antenna. It's much harder to see without editing the image.

Corner, Up Close:
http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/9278/escortpassport9500ci3rh3.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/9278/escortpassport9500ci3rh3.3fb0eafcd7.jpg (http://g.imageshack.us/g.php?h=182&i=escortpassport9500ci3rh3.jpg)
The Z06 has brake cooling ducts built into the front spoiler that serve as perfect mounting spots for the laser shifters. Only thing you have to do is clip one of the vertical supports to make a little room. Doesn't appear to affect rigidity of the spoiler at all.

The Most Common View (Rear):
http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/2530/escortpassport9500ci4jg1.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/2530/escortpassport9500ci4jg1.af7e7167d8.jpg (http://g.imageshack.us/g.php?h=261&i=escortpassport9500ci4jg1.jpg)
The black bar above the license plate is the rear laser shifter. It just barely leaves enough room to access the trunk release button directly above it (not visible).

GPS Module:
http://img371.imageshack.us/img371/528/escortpassport9500ci5md6.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
http://img371.imageshack.us/img371/528/escortpassport9500ci5md6.84b3625ffe.jpg (http://g.imageshack.us/g.php?h=371&i=escortpassport9500ci5md6.jpg)
This dash mount is one of the suggested mounting options in the instructions. Unfortunately, it appears to be an all-in-one GPS unit and doesn't like the heat. Would recommend, in the future, looking for a shadier location to mount, preferably with a clear view of the sky, though. For those who are curious, the rectangular glass patch just in front of the steering wheel is the heads-up display.

Control Module:
http://img372.imageshack.us/img372/4254/escortpassport9500ci6kd9.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
http://img372.imageshack.us/img372/4254/escortpassport9500ci6kd9.0d447b173c.jpg (http://g.imageshack.us/g.php?h=372&i=escortpassport9500ci6kd9.jpg)
Just to the left of the steering wheel, above the AC vent. I ran the wire between some dash panels and back behind there. No drilling required. Easy access with left hand. This cannot be flush-mounted into a panel, though, as it has a power button on top (not visible).

Display Module:
http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/2263/escortpassport9500ci7vg7.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/2263/escortpassport9500ci7vg7.c87e93cc60.jpg (http://g.imageshack.us/g.php?h=172&i=escortpassport9500ci7vg7.jpg)
Just to the right of the steering wheel, just below the right-side driver binnacle buttons. Not quite directly in line-of-sight, but no worse than a windshield mount. This piece can be flush-mounted with the included face plate, but I chose not to permanently modify my car in such a manner. After all, technology progresses, and one day I may want to upgrade.

Looks good, but I would of mounted the shifters higher, in the open section right above where you have them now.

IMO i would have placed the laser heads in the upper corner of the grille area. same would go for the radar antenna. all it would take is for some stray rock or road debris to go ... :banghead:

otherwise, nice car :thumb2:

I was thinking that as well. I would have put them higher too.

VetteJockey,

Very slick work! Did you happen to take any pictures of how you routed the wiring under the hood and (especially) through the firewall? I may be attempting a similar install in my C6 very shortly and I'm looking for ideas. :D

Hi VetteJockey,

Yeah, I think that that the GPS module is going to overheat atop the black dash. It looks like the Corvette has a rear trunk. If you pop the trunk, do you have easy access to the center brake light for changing its bulb? My car has a nice 3 inch square access port through the metal shelf below the center light. I simply stuck my GPS module through the hole and let it magnetically be held in place. Since the center light housing on my car is plastic, it doesn't interfere with GPS reception at all. As a matter of fact, my 9500ci gets great GPS reception! And the GPS antenna, being in the shade below the center light dome, doesn't overheat at all.

Just a thought! :D

I wouldn't worry about it too much, I have my GPS antenna for my radio mounted right where his is on a black dash in a black car, been there 6 months strong.

The 9500ci GPS antenna module does shut down in really high heat. Its an issue that has been discussed in another thread.

Check out your car's rear center "nerd" light! It has to have an access hole for easily changing its bulb. :D

There's actually a better place on a C6: right on top of the air conditioner ducts in the center console. That's where the factory nav system puts its GPS antenna, and the top of the dash in that location is opaque to GPS frequencies. And it's safely out of the direct sun, yet has a clear view of the sky through the windshield.

Your laser shifter heads are extremely too low!!!!!!!! and they are not pointed straight out...Hello punchthrough and hello ticket

Mount them to the underside of bumper. You are barely covering yourself from headlight shots

Remove the battery and there is a rubber boot there with wiring going through the fire wall. You can cut a hole just to the right of that or do as I did and cut the rubber boot, fish your wires through and then reseal the boot with some black silicone. Comes in on the passenger side just right and above the fuse block.

THIS! You really should mount those jammer heads higher and NEED to make sure those heads are facing straight out.

Yeah Im suprised it hasn't been said previously. But yeah fix the jammer heads so there facing straight. And move them up, there zr4's not LI's. The radar antenna needs to placed differently or cut the grill. Your not going to get great reception with it behind the grill. And I honestly would put it lower so you can see under cars a hell of a lot better.

Now that looks sorta familiar...pics are right after install and radar antenna and shifters still require straightening/levelling::D
