FYI, its a separate registration site for the iX and the cI, so when you go there, make sure you click for the iX at the top (just in case someone is registering theirs).

Do you have put the CI in USB mode somehow? I hooked up the appropriate cable, connected the other end to the laptop and nothing happened. I power cycled the CI, with no change.
The only thing I can think of is the installer hooked up to the wrong port?

hmmmm. I found the root of the problem. When I plug it in, OSX is grabbing it without giving me the option to unmount it. Thus Windows in VMWare fusion never sees it.
so now I've got to figure out how to release it from OSX...

MACs do lots of cool stuff, but the reality is that every job I've ever had came with a PC sitting right on my desk. The business world uses PC, almost exclusively. That's just the deal.

Ha, Please let me know how you get it working. I have a MacBook Air and want to have windows and VM or bootcamp set up before I get my 9500ci! I emailed Escort to see if they had plans to release a Mac compatible version. Maybe everyone else on here with a Mac should send emails..... ;) and we might move them along.

But the cool consumers that buy the latest and more expensive toys usually have Mac's! :p

Why is it every time someone has a problem with software it turns out to be Apple related?
Geeze! Garmin has enough problems trying to satisfy the Apple people when it comes to their GPS software running on a Mac.
Buy a "real computer" people and quit buying that overpriced toy stuff if you want anything to work! :D
I'll bet Escort is going to smirk at the Apple people calling complaining, "Hep me peeze! It won't work!" :badputer:
"Well, Duh!" Should have bought a Valentine if you like Apples! :p

Considering the earth shattering pace of evolution and recent ghosting errors shouldn't the V1 be compared to PC? :fight:
:D
My office computers are PC's but I pay people to use them and have an IT guy to fix them for me when they crash, my home computers are Mac's and run great. They each have a niche, but would be nice to have both options. We can run windows or worst case I'll just get a $500 PC laptop to run the car related software I have along with the 9500ci if need be.

What's odd, is I am running windows. It's just osx is holding the 9500CI hostage, and wont' let it go.

I think the V1 would best be matched with the Univac punch-card system computers. The PC is still too advanced for Mike. :D
They really need to come out with a new V2. The V1's really getting a bit dated now and Escort's grabbing all the patents. A 32Mhz processor in the 9500ix should jump on a signal now with a shorter notice.
And for $19 a year, firmware updates should be a breeze with no mailing it in (which is getting terribly expensive with UPS now that gas has soared!). Yay!`:)

I thought adding a powered usb hub might help. Long story short if the hub recommends no more than 5V don't throw 9V at it :)

My 9500iX hooked right up with the USB, the Windows computer recognized it immediately and so did the 9500 iX. I don't see any problems here???

SUCCESS!!!!!!!! Nothing a little boot camp couldn't take care of. Is there any documentation for the software out yet?
I used the backup true lock, migrate feature, then update detector...
I wonder when you use the update detector feature if it wipes out the true lock data?
Basically, I have no idea what anything did today :)

Updating the firmware does not erase any stored locations.
I was wondering as a segue to this: If they can update the Ci and IX on the NET, how about providing us with stored locations or marked ones (from other users of speed traps etc). With their permisison of course, we could travel out of state and have an idea of where other IX users have stored speedtraps etc?? Any thoughts?? I would think they'd have a database of for this and Fairfield Ohio would be at the top of their list!!!

I was wondering too, if you can share marked locations and truelocks with other users by uploading the backup file from one detector to another. Will this work? Thanks.

No, there is currently no way to do this.

I did it with 9500i TrueLocks. Friend's new 9500i took TrueLocks (custom) database from my 9500i - everything works with no problems.
I don't know how with Trinity database, but wouldn't expect it to be possible.

Thank you €. You mean the 9500i or ix? Did you try just the Truelocks or the Marked locations as well? Im not interested in the trinity just the custom so i dont have to drive over all the locations again.

Moved TrueLocks work. MarkLocs exist in the same database, so I believe they'll work as well. But to be onest, didn't check this out.

If you ever can check the marked locations, i would appreciate so much since i would like to know if it works before buying the detector.
Juancho, send you PM.

Yeah, I'm a V-nine beta tester. Now I can detect everything. I mean EVERYTHING! Know even how many irons are working in a tower block behing me or if my neighbour from a house two streets forward is shaving himself Philishave or Braun. Ghostey Counter is very helpfull :D

How do you tell what your software version is? I just got mine in early September. Shouldn't it be "updated"?
Also, that photo shows a radio mute connection. I am having problems hearing the alerts over the radio and road noise.
Tried calling escort to see if they had any device that would send the audio putput to the car radio/speakers (kind of like a nav unit). They said no.
Any way I could use this radio mute connector to, well, mute the radio??

How do you tell what your software version is? I just got mine in early September. Shouldn't it be "updated"?Connect your 9500ci to the Escort Software. There are RLC database updates every month and firmware updates occasionally. The last firmware update was released October 1st, so your 9500ci is not up to date. The last camera database update was November 3rd, so you are not up to date with these either.

TDYes, as long as your radio has a mute input.

looks like 1.3 is out for the 9500CI... "improves startup sequencing" I'll probably pass, I'm waiting on the ramp up fix.
