Would I be able to mount my x50 on the dash (on top of the console hump) right in front of me, or will my head prevent the detector from picking up radar from the rear? I currently have the RD mounted just left of center on the dash. It has an unobstructed view of the back, but the display is a bit too low in my opion. I'd like to put the display right in front of me, but I don't want to make myself overly vournerable to radar coming from the rear.

Radar from the rear should be about the same. Laser should be about the same as well as the light-pipe might just as well be a crack-pipe with most Belscorts. Your laser to the rear is from reflections and diffuse scatter on the inside of your windshield IMHO. It's good BTW.

Your head will have no affect. X50 picks up "rear radar" from reflection off of signs, cars, and other objects. As he said, the rear laser sensor is pointless.
