I get POP warnings from my detector daily, however, a lot of the time I see no police. I think it could be the firmware in my detector, what is the latest firmware Escort has released? Also, do I have to send my detector to Escort to upgrade the firmware?

I also get a lot of pops....too many.
I do not know that latest version.
There is a sticky above that you can respond to also...this seems to be a problem for some.

If you do not turn off POP on your X50 you will NOT be happy. There is a reason why Escort made POP protection optional. I will go out and say that V1 blows away the X50 in POP protection. This is the only area V1 is clearly superior to the X50

My X50 hardly ever falses on POP. Only falsed about 3 times since I've owned it. I've told you all the story about my first 2 X50's so I think Escort changed it and didn't tell anyone. I leave my POP on all the time, it is extremely rare that it falses. Escort just should have made a consistent X50 product before they released it.

I guess I can do that sometime. But, I'm lazy sometimes and then I would have to change back the following settings
Change display from Highway to H
Turn off auto-mute
Change to expert meter
Change Dark mode to all dark
turn off X band
turn off Laser
turn on POP
I'll do it within the next week and let you know the version.

After doing a factory reset, which showed that I have Version 5, I no longer get any false pops.

That's because a factory reset turns POP off!

Right, and I turned it back on, and the only time I get POPs now are when there is a statie in the neighborhood, and it is usually for very short bursts as well. Before, it would go off without any police and would go off for a few seconds.
