My new car gets here in about 10 days.

I need to decide:

1. Do I keep my V1 and wire it in by the mirror or do I go for a built in radar detector.

2. Already posted this in another forum here but I also need to decide on laser jammers. Any thoughts here would be great.

I'd love to hear comments on this.

Questions:
How comparable is the escort SR7 to the V1?

Of the jammers, I think I like the lidatek one the best. Do I need two sensor/tranmitters for a BMW 530i in the front? Should I wait for this new one coming out from AntiLaser?

If you don't mind the V1 hard wired near you mirror don't bother getting a newer detector...but if you absolutely need a remote mounted detector the SR7 is the way to go....The performance is equal except on rear radar range spefically Ka....Also with the antenna mounted lower the range is effected just a bit

For ultimate protection you will need 2 lidatek heads. And don't forget LaserShield plate cover and VEIL...I would tell you to wait for the AL6 but I am getting impacient waiting for them to finish their paper work to sell in america, plus you could acquire a laser ticket while you were waiting for the new jammer to come out.

Is the new AL6 that much better than the Lidatek or the Blinders jammers? If so, I could wait a bit and be careful. If it isn't that much better, well...

Also, my understanding is that not every state has every type of gun so if I get one that covers the state's I drive in the most then I'd be covered. Problem is, i don't know where to find the information about what is in the state's of interest (MN, WI, IL, IA, NE, CO).

The SR7 range will be affected how but its down low mounting? Is it much less?

A remote detector with low mounting will have less "line of sight" with the targeting radar, thus less range. This will be especially apparent over hills. Also, with it mounted low, it can be blocked by other vehicles in front of you, while regular in-car units would "see" the radar through the windows of the other vehicles.

the higher the antenna the better radar range due to a better feild of view...If the AL6 come out with the same performance as the prototype but jams every gun out there, then it will be the best jammer on the market and i don't see any competetion for it if it were to hit the market today...Many company's will have to do alot of work to compete with the AL6 if it lives up to it prototype
