What are the differences between these models?

The name on the box and the Shifter comes with an interface
The jammers are identical

Can the ZR3 interface with the RX65 and vice versa with the X50 and 905?

If I am going to be interfacing with my RX65, would there be any benefit to having the seperate interface of the ZR3?

Only benefit that I could see is if you got a non-belscort detector, you would no longer be able to use the 905, but the ZR3 would still function.

I see... So with the 905, you need to have a high-end Bel detector to interface with. The ZR3 has its own interface, and you can use that or interface with an X50.

I only found 1 website that says the RX65 will recognize the ZR3 as the 905 and will work with it, but I will call Bel and find out for sure.

I talked with Chad about this today, and he said that the hardware is identical (besides the interface) but the software was different. He said that as a company, they cannot guarantee that the x50 will work with the 905 and the RX65 will work with the ZR3, but he said that 9/10 times they will work. The RX65 plugged into a ZR3 will say "ZR3 Shift" like an x50 would and vice versa.

OK, I'm just a little confused here. Roy says the ZR3 "comes with an interface". Maybe I'm reading into that incorrectly, but it sort of implied that the Pro905 does NOT! I'm guessing this actually means that the Shifter comes with an "interchangeable" interface that can be used with other non-Escort detectors.....but that the Pro905 still comes with an interface that will ONLY work with a Bel RD.

Is this assumption correct?

Yes that is correct, the 905 must be interfaced with a BEL (or maybe Escort) radar detector, while the ZR3 comes with it's own head unit (but you can also interface it with the detector too).
