BRAND NEW BMW 135I was playing with me passing me and slowing down at 80 -90 or better..Finally I decided to punch it, i got the jump on him and kept just a little lead on him as he was slowly gaining on my back end @97 my V1 let out a chirp so I let off the gas and tapped the brake , there was half mile bend in the road up ahead ...little did the beemer know there was a leo sitting at the end of the bend shooting constant On Ka....I was cruising back down at speed limit AS THE BEEMER CAME TO AT ESTIMATED 100 + MPH blow by the trooper=0!!!!! The trooper had to **** his pants and by the time I passed him and he pulled out behind me flew by me to give chase to the beemer...When I looked back infront of me Beemer was GONEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! out of sight I dont know if the beemer got away but damn ...1ST LEGIT SAVE FROM MY V1!!!! I live in Rochester New York and I have never came across a real x band threat yet to date so I am def thinking of turning it off...I will have to read the archive sticky about how to turn x band off on my 3.872=)
Glad you enjoyed the story it had my heart pumping !!!

BTW how do I add what I drive and what radar I am running at the end of my post? as my signature so to speak?

Look in the regional section for bands used by town and you'll see. PM Victor since he's around there and he'll tell you if you need it.

To turn it off, hold down the mute button, turn on the unit, when it flashes let go and press the mute button till you see 1. Press and hold the mute button till the arrow does down.

For the sig, click and USER CP on the top left and on the left side with the options you'll see EDIT SIGNATURE.

I guess that would depend on what your definition of "fast" is...

Secondly, the 3 series and 1 series are in a different class, so why get the 325i if you don't need the extra space?

Great save, you should have tried to warn the other driver though.

I'll let a road rager get the ticket, especially a left lane hog..

but never a fellow enthusiast.

If you had warned him, he might have gone out and bought a V1. Or maybe a cobra, in which case you're creating a good rabbit :). Either way, win/win.

Now he's either in jail or hiding under a rock :D

You clearly know what you're talking about. You must also be aware of tuning that can be done to the 135 to increase it by another 70 HP and 80 ft/lbs of torque. PSS10's and H&R Sways would probably reduce the roll and dramatically increase your control in turns (maintaining those slower speeds in corners, in your cheap 135). And why would you want a heavy car like the 135, I mean it weighs a mere 3373 lbs. Unless you indulge yourself in the automatic, which would be 3384 lbs. Still 320 lbs lighter than the M3.

I mean yeah, it breaks the bank starting at $36,050.. and you might drop another $4,000 on the performance mods I mentioned.. and to still keep it cheaper, and faster than a stock E92 M3.. but whatever. I'm talking about the lowest model, it's a grocery getter, what do I know.

O wow didn't expect all this craziness haha...I drive a 04 Grand prix GTP with bunch of little mods I run a 13.4 in the quarter with street tires and have no Governor Highest speed Ive even attempted was 155 ...slowly creeping after 152 so I didn't push it much further after that.. MY OPINION for a street car the 135i is fast! Low 13 sec 1/4 mile times for a street car stock is pretty god damn fast! Not the fastest or nicest but very solid Beemer!...When I punched the gas and go the jump on him I was about 4 to 5 car lengths ahead on open highway and I saw his front end dig in and he started to gain very slowly but think he would've got me if we raced...

I was going to warn him but he was being a dick slowing down and speeding up and lookin at me like I was a lil teenager so Im kinda glad he got nabbed dunno what ever happened to him...hopefully he becomes a member here and see's this post and comments=)
cheers!

I wouldn't get one..... at least get a 325

First of all...I'll start off by saying the 325i was last produced in 2006. The '06 325i came with a naturally aspirated 215 hp inline 6 and trotted from 0-60 in 6.7 to 7.2 seconds depending on the trans you bought. It rang in at $30,900 (base) MSRP, and I'll state again this is the 2006 325i model. In comparison, the 135i (regardless of model year, and options)...is faster at 5.0-5.9 seconds to 60 (depending on year and trans) and more expensive at $35,000(ish) to $40,000(ish) MSRP ($35k being the "average base" 135i price regardless of model year). It also produces more horsepower at roughly 300 (Turbocharged) depending on the model year. Even in comparison to the new "base" model 328i, that began being sold in the 2007 model year (replacing the 325i), the 135i is still faster, has more horsepower and more is expensive. I'll close with regardless of price, options, model, horsepower etc. etc. a BMW is a BMW is a BMW.

-Ryan

P.S. IF you want classify cars in BMW's model range from lowest to highest depending on price (which is silly)...then I guess you could call the base model 128i (NOT 135i) the "lowest" at $29,150 (2010 model year MSRP).

I was having service done on my 750 and they gave me a 335i loaner. Initially when I walked out to the car I was disappointed but once I got behind the wheel, HOLY $#%!

I had no idea how fast that thing was and I believe the 135 has the same motor. For those who haven't driven one, approach with caution...it is a very, very quick little car!
