So I admit I have been lazy in posting I have finally received my V1. I have had it for about a week.

So far no real threats. I have left X-band and pop on right now as I haven't had a problem where I live, big L seems to quite down most of the x falses where I travel most. I have had a couple possible ka falses because I could not see where it would be coming from, but that doesn't mean it wasn't real.

However, I have found x-band good for one thing so far. The first day I got it I drove to Advanced Auto Parts for a fuse tap and as I was parking my car the V1 one alerted me to x-band ahead. When I looked up I saw a drug deal going down across the street. Apparently drug deals happen on x-band:eek:

So far I am really glad I choose the V1, the arrows and bogey counter would be difficult to live without, but I can see how if I lived in a big city or drove through one everyday how the lack of 9500ix city features could be frustrating.

Congrats! I've been using my V1 for a bit over 1 year now and love it. You'll become more proficient reading the signals it provides with time.

Congrats! You got all of the goodies :)

As stated, with time you'll pick up the bands easier and you'll know how to react to each.

Yea it's the hardcase. I'm glad I bought it, the V1 fits in it really well.

The Ka alerts were most likely true or you would have got a J-out (junk RD). :)

One of them got a J-out, but not the other. Wouldn't it be possible to have a Ka false that didn't get J-out with POP still on?

Yelp. "Most likely" is the words I used. Yes, the 3.872 V1 can but give it long enough with a good signal, it will J-out if it is another (Cobra) RD most of the time. I had a rear RD give me heck on Ka one time, it got close enough before the V1 J'ed out with in/out alarms for a minute or so. Also, I had a RD to X band me forward, no J there of course. But most of the time, a Ka alarm in low traffic with no RD's around is a Leo..... :)

Good info, thanks.

The harmonic trash of other RD's oscillator is what makes the V1 J-out. That harmonic freq. is what the V1 is searching for and if the V1 does not see it, it will continue alarming normal on Ka. Ka guard is what it is called but with the MPH 33.8 pop, the V1 will alarm first then check later for the RD trash because pop is fast and needs quick action. Turn pop off and the V1 will scan normal but does not have the quicker response on K band and MPH 33.8 Ka.... :)

Gotcha, now I better understand when people are talking about the Ka guard. :)
