i use my x50 and ive riden in cars with a V1 and Rx65. and id have to rank em 1.X50 1.V1 3.RX65 . X50 and V1 are dead tied cuz both have great pros and both have their cons but i find both great detectors. for some reason im just not a big fan of the RX65, im not saying its a bad detector, its a very good detector, but for some reason im just not a fan

Yes the V1 being the Porshce!

True. But if I said "if you could have one of these three women for 1 night. Pam Anderson, Carmon Electra,or Angelia Joelee. How would you rank them. Although none of us has been with them. I'm pretty sure you still got a pretty good idea how would you rank that. Mmmm hmmmm

1- V1
2- BEL RX65
3- Escort 8500 X50

V1 is the most sensitive detector has the largest horn antenna, perfect for off axis radar

BEL RX65 has a biggere antenna than the x50 better for off axis

Dont agree with this either! You are thinking with the "other" head with regards to this chix question.

Karmen Elektra and Angelina without a doubt. I would see how they do on ALL BANDS. Might even give them a BOGEY or two.

actually its quite easy to choose from those women. Lets see Pam has hepatitis, Angelina is into incest, and though carmen was with Denis Rodman I think she's clean. So it would be
#1 Carmen #2 Angelina #3 Pam
But I perferably wouldnt choose any of them over my sexy girlfriend, lol! I'm being serious though!

All in all, i'ma have to say its all an opinion. Its whatever you like. I dont really think one is better than the other, well maybe the valentine. But who cares? There all 3 great detectors!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree 100%.

V1 is the most sensitive detector has the largest horn antenna, perfect for off axis radar

BEL RX65 has a biggere antenna than the x50 better for off axis

Technically, a larger horn aperture would give it more gain, and make it more directional.

Hey Tick Magnet!

Try a little test at home or in your local church, school etc. Take a V1 and the NEWEST BELSCORTS and ask the people who know NOTHING about radar detectors and ask which one they think is the most technologically advanced. What RD looks the coolest and etc. Not like a 67 caddy la la la.

See the results might scare you! I have done this actually and people are kind of put off by the V1. Its like seeing your first Lamborghini or Ferrari. You have never seen anything like and it is UNLIKE any other similar product in the market. But why are they put off.......?? Yes you are correct it is the PRICE for it looks very expensive. I can never afford that! But hey it is only $100 more! Exotic metal........( NOT EVERYONE HAS HEARD OF THIS METAL SO THEY THINK It IS VERY EXPENSIVE)MAGNESIUM versus PLASTIC. Two antennas! You got to be kidding? It tells you if the police is in FRONT of you! Behind you! On the side too! WOW! Does it talk? NO! 8)

Using version 2.391 V1 - upgraded once when superwide Ka and laser hit the seen. No POP but great detection on all radar bands and laser detection has saved me more than once (with the help of Veil). I've been lucky so far, cars in front were tagged giving me enough time to adjust my speed. Laser should be outlawed!

IMO from my own experiences: It would go as follows:

Performance (R&L):
V1
X50
RX65

Price-to-performance:
X50-Tied for 1st
RX65-Tied for 1st
V1

Overall (Price/Performance/Looks/'Liveability'/Features etc.[Everything]):
X50
V1
RX65

This is my opinion from using all of them...just my experiences others may(will) have completely different experiences and opinions and henceforth completely different lineups of them and I respect anyones, just ask for the same.

That being said I would have no problems with owning ANY-ONE of them!

It was a joke for those of us whom know about (import sports cars) history... To explain that for those lacking in import history which some on this board seem to be (No names):

It was around this time all the Asian manufacs. started 'stealswapping' ideas for their all out sports machines... Toyota being one of the first with its early Supras to 'derive inspiration' right along side the RX-7....

That’s why the Mazda looks so similar to the Porsche 959 supercar of the day, and has the near identical sequential turbo set up as it... they 'stole ' or should we say 'derived inspiration' from it; exactly like Toyota 'derived inspiration' when coming out with the Supra. THEN when the Gen(MK-4)TT was unveiled it used sequential spooling also!!! (shocked)?, looking at the Toyota Supra generations and the Mazda RX-7's its funny to see how closely they correlate and how (their inspiration/technology was derived) and how similar they really are; henceforth the nameswapping often involved in jokes...

The Supra often had the 'all out balls' of the two, the RX-7 the handling and extreme limits of lightweight technology; but very comparable Asian supercars right through their entire lifespan(s)... Teaching history to people is fun.

The V1 wins a lot of tests for range and laser detection etc. and is probably better in overall performance, but I do most of my driving in the City and I believe that the X50 and RX65 have better filtering / less falses than the V1. I will gladly take a few feet off in range for a detector that falses less.

The V1 is better for the Highway, and the Belscorts are better for the city.

OK, back to the thread. Why the RX65 so far down, your list holein1? I mean, I love expert mode on the X50 as much as the next man, but the Ka range of the RX65 is really impressive, and until the STi is more widespread, and blue displays and scanning dots aside, it's a brilliantly designed radar detector which deserves more respect than this!
