Hi Everyone,
Just received my new LI 8 in the mail. Can't wait to install it and combine it with effectiveness of my Redline. I have couple of questions for the ones who are using them. First is, can those 2 green lights be turned off, I feel like they can really be noticed at night. The other one is, the box says that you can't install the heads behind a grill, I was wondering if any of you guys are successfully using them behind grills. I have a perfect spot behind a pretty large holed honey-comb grill, I was wondering if it would work?
Thanks in advance guys.
Two green lights? I know of one, on the switch (I guess its possible the CPU has one on it, but I've never looked, and the CPU shouldn't be visible anyway). Its not a problem, mount it low where you have easy access to it.
As far as installing behind anything? LIDAR works off of light. Anything obstructing the passage of light will cause problems. An opaque surface obstructing the jammer heads will reduce the effectiveness of the jammers to zero. Post a picture of the front of your car and we'll give you the best mounting solution. Check out the install section of this website - you will see all sorts of various installs.

I should've specified, sorry. I am talking about the neon green LED lights that light up on the heads whenever they are firing.
The heads don't light up while firing.
Edit: Not anything in the visible light spectrum, anyway. Where did you hear this from?

Hmm.. My mistake then. I thought the receivers light up. I think I saw a video of it and maybe the box was deceiving. C class amg with 2 green lights...
Oh, you are referring to the box art. Yeah, there is no visible light transmitted.

And like the promotional image in Cliff's signature:

Anyways, there are no lights except on the on/off button. DO NOT place behind anything or them will be worthless. Post up pics and we'll tell you where to mount them. Remember to block out your license plate.

...the box says that you can't install the heads behind a grill.
Quoted to place the PERIOD in bold type. It's an absolute, not an option.

the picture cliff showed earlier is right, maybe lower to cover the fogs too.
you will have to cut the grille, or you can get a golf GT grille with the bars and you wont have to cut anything.

I'd suggest cutting the mesh grill in the exact shape of the heads, and mount the heads as flush with the grill as you can and still have them facing straight forward. it will blend right into the grill and still be fairly stealth, and won't sacrafice functionality. Plus, grills are cheap to replace if you ever need.
