Okay, I know that having a black bra for your car helps a little with the defence against lidar, but.. what the heck are they really "intended" to be for? ... Just looks?
I never understood that either!
It's kind of like putting plastic over your sofa. ?????

The little plastic ones that clip to your hood are very popular here.

I personally wouldn't bother with one for countermeasures, unless it's the same color as your car.. because any LEO who has a clue is gonna aim elsewhere if s/he sees one of them on the front of your car, IE your windshield.. so you've got no advance warning..unless of course you're jamming..

Well thats not entirely true. The Leo will go for your plate and then your headlights since they are the most reflective parts of your car.
If he aims higher for your windshield he is targeting a part of your car that will not reflect as well since it is not perpendicular to the road nor highly reflective. It's also sure to alert the RD so all in all its not a bad thing.

So would I benefit from getting a black one? (<-------------- As you can see my car, its metallic silver...eeesh!)
