No. Maybe try a remote control.
Or better yet, get a laser tester from Roy:

Not necessarily, since a laser pointer is in the visual spectrum as opposed to the infrared. LEO use a similar visual spectrum pointer to target, but I don't think the jammers bother looking for that (just the infrared actual measurement pulses). I've had good luck with most TV-type remote controls. My Passport laser detector always picks up the jam signal, although my Bel laser detector seems to be completely blind to everything except sunspots.
Oops, misread RD as jammer. Oh well, same stuff applies. Must be past my bedtime. BTW, the remotes need to be almost touching to trigger, since the wavelength is not quite the right match (US traffic laser is at 904nm, TV remotes are about 50nm off).
