oh brother these guys wont give up. spend more money on count down timers? really? to help warn people of the cash grab camera's?

why not spend ZERO money and extend the yellow lights and get rid of all the camera's. problem solved no more accidents. and I only charge a nominal consulting fee for my services...

I do like the idea, maybe get rid of the cameras all together and have a count down timer on a traffic signal , just like they are starting to do with cross walks.

That way if yellow light times vary you are in the know and know if you can or can not get though that light in time. Thus way you are not left in the dark, nor can you say you didn't know.

true they would probably be helpful but also could be another distraction. drivers outside of the area would be unfamiliar with them and may not know what to do.

the state and city are broke though and they are just looking to make money. everyone knows that the camera's cause more accidents then intersections without them and the city is looking to keep and expand their cash cow anyway they can. these counters would lower the statics (if in fact they lowered accidents) and give them artificial evidence the camera's work. this artificial evidence could then be used to put up more camera's and even be used in other states to justify the camera's.

Here in my city they have begun to use flashing yellow arrows for the usual yield on green. It is very confusing still to me, yet they seem to work OK. New stuff is always going to throw in a wrench to the public.

Now I get it but why not just keep the yield on green seems like a waste of money to me
