I have X-band turned off on my RX65 but left K-band on as some LEAs around here use it. I seem to be getting a lot of K-band falses near grocery stores. I'm assuming this is probably from door motion sensors, but I thought they were mainly X-band. But I'm pretty new to this stuff so maybe I'm wrong. Thoughts?

Yup, many automatic door openers operate on K band frequencies similar or identical to traffic radar.

Throw away my detector. Seriously, it would only be good for highway travel. Although few, and I can determine a false it is bad enough that I don't particularly pay attention to weak K signals, with shorter range one certainly can not dismiss a weak Ka so easily. The saying "there goes the neighborhood" if Ka ever pollutes our streets.

hopefully they will all go to whatever type opener is at a new market nearby.
it's not x, k, ka, ku, or laser.
not sure what it is, but a V1 and 8500 both stay silent.
as long as it's not a band that police can use i hope all doors go to it.
