Do the LEO car's carry more than one type of radar gun? I ask because today I was driving down the road and suddenly I got a X band alert full intensity on my E795(city mode), I thought it may be false, then after 3 seconds I got a Full K band alert and it stayed on for 5 secs till I saw a cop car comming from front in the opposite lane (no other cops in sight).
So did my 795 false first on X or thecop was using 2 guns at the same time???
PS: I was really impressed by my E795's detection :D :D :D :D

The X was probably a false, or the E795 ID'd a K hit for a X hit. Honestly that has never happened to me once with my E795. How long did the Xband last?


BTW what kind of range did you get?

The X band was muted(city mode) It was like an instant on x alert went to full intensity!! for a second I guess.
I actually did not note the exact range but I think it was about 5 secs going at 40mph towards the LEO :?: :!:

Maybe he was using instant on... because 5 seconds at 40MPH towards each other is about (less then 600ft) or just over 1/10th of a mile... and that isnt great range at all. I would honestly assume it was instant-on (and your E795 mis-ID'd the band)... which mine never has so that isnt great for you... but if your happy with that, I am happy for you.

It was kind of my first encounter with a LEO and an improvement over the radioshack RD so I am excited about it. Also it was avery busy street(lot of traffic), would that affect the range?I wish I could find a drone to check the actual range.
5 sec did give me enough time to slow down though!!

Yesterday I was driving at the same spot where I got the X band and then K band alert, and i noticed that I got an full x band alert again!! I think there is a automatic door there that triggered the X band and then when the cop hit K band instant on then the E795 started displaying K band alert. Makes sense.
But now the question is why did the door set the full instant X alert, Do the Radars frequencies used by the doors differ in intensity too? Like some doors will only give a weak alert and some will make the RD go crazy :? :!: :?
