I LIVE IN NJ... What radar bands do cops use here? I am torn between the rx65 & 8500 x50 and am trying to find out which would work better in NJ. thanks for the help

NJ is tough because they use a lot of x band (which also falses like none other) and laser (which a RD alone most likely won't provide enough warning to slow).

i dont know what you guys are talking about, i never see laser and i live here.
buy the v1 or rx 65... the x50 lacks in x-band....but trust me, if u think that x band is out dated, just go speeedining on a state road, and see how good it realy is.
1st and only time pulled over was instand-on X-band!! with the x50. it light up like a chrismass tree

In all my driving of NJ i have run into X, Ka, and Laser

NJ uses everything. I've gotten lasered on the NJ turnpike and parkway many times. instant on X band is used and cops in NJ have rediculous hiding places where they are impossible to be spotted, such as in the woods off the highway, or in between the N and S sides behind large hills. Always follow a rabit because NJ state police are extremely well trained with speed equipment

The last couple times I've driven in NJ (on the GSP) I've encountered laser but no radar. Lots of Ka in town (Kenilworth) though.

Locals run the gammit when it comes to radar in NJ. Leave everything turned on when visiting.

I suggest the x50. I live in NJ and the x50 has excellent x-band detection. Most local cops use it, I have no been ticketed yet.
