Probably not. This is going more into the Waze faze. IMO, it will all go to the sharing. Which is good and bad. Good for us that use and share. BAD, because to many dum asses are already on the phone.
THINK on this. NOW all the damn yuppie, cell phone talker, no attention paying assholes will get this and ...................

You're right, it expired about 3 years ago (Feb 2011), enough time to produce a new model with the famous "arrows" technology, obviously they are not interested in this stuff and that's not just for now, in the future as well. Unless they get bombarded by thousands of RD enthusiasts demanding them to come-up with one new model incorporating the "arrows" technology as well.

Time will tell...

my valentine is irritating me with all the new false alarms (previous 9500ix owner) but until escort gets those arrows i just cant make the switch. i need to know where its coming from on those nights i go cruise with my friends.

Escort has dismissed arrows as gimmicks, while I find them essential. This said by one who also runs a RL or Max with EL.

When you have constant on going for 3 1/2 miles, it'd be nice to know if he's in your rear view gaining on you or up the road. You can sort of tell based on conditions, but arrows to confirm would be great, definitely not a gimmick.

It should be easy to do with the displays they have. They already display an arrow for red light cameras (on the 9500ix).

What I have learn is if you purchase the V1 before any other detector in your radar detector life cycle you will always miss the arrows and will always want a radar detector with arrows. My first radar detector I have ever own was a V1 my second was BEL STIR with a combo with my V1. I have to admit the arrows are huge to try to find the target of where the radar is coming from. Now at this moment I only have the Redline and every time I get a detection I have to look ahead on the side or in the back of me. The V1 I would know right away where the source is coming from. The funny thing is all the compliance about Escort building a radar detector with arrows are from previous or present V1 owners. If you never owned a V1 before more than likely you wouldn't care if they made a radar detector with arrows or not.

Escort should put out a Light HD model. Nothing but 3 colored lights and a buzzer. Green to mash gas, yellow to let off of gas, and red light/buzzer to slam on the brakes all for $59.00. Who needs arrows!......

Valentine Research has just patented the red, green, yellow idea for the arrows.

So what do those side arrows tell you?

No radar can measure speed orthogonally to the direction of travel.

......So what do those side arrows tell you?......

A netural fault display indication showing that the Leo is somewhere on the left or right side, not front nor back. Also helps track the position of the Leo, front, side, rear when you pass him. Also shows where door openers are as you pass them on your travels which helps to id falses faster! LOL......

Precisely. Very helpful in allowing one to know when the source is being passed or if multiple bogeys detected which one is the one to be concerned about and which one(s) can be discounted. Any V1 owner immediately gets it.

If Escort ever added arrows they would screw it up. Case in point, just look at the mess they've made of the Max.

what do you mean by the mess they made? Im seriously considering the max and im trying to do as much research on it as I can. so far ive seen no complaints and seems to preform very well. My valentine falses WAY to much now seems like its twice as bad than when I had I got it new a couple years ago. Those arrows though... im not going to lie, I need to know which way its coming from sooner than later because I don't usually stop during my late night runs. Its making the switch that much harder!

I'm not an expert but I do quite a bit of reading and I've seen a lot more negatives about the Max than positives.. I hear the detection range is about on par with the 8500 X50 which is pretty bad
considering it costs a couple hundred dollars more. Also, I heard the Max fails at picking up LIDAR and Instant On in many cases which is a deal breaker for most to say the least.

Definitely stay away until Escort fixes some of the bugs. I'm sure it'll eventually be worthwhile, similar to how the Redline evolved. Redline was a mess at first, but now it's one of the most respected detectors in its class.

I always do a lot of reading as well and I agree the valentine one was and still is king with that laser! Escort products in general always sucked with instant on shots in general as opposed to valentine however the MAX seems like it stepped up its game. Doing some research it seems like the max picks up I/O bursts pretty well now! and as far as the range, I would have to disagree. the max is impressive and holds its own right next to the V1.

IMO escort will do it when they are good at it and not before. They have so many different detectors (Belscort). For them to produce a radar detector that can do what a v1 does will take time and a lot of money. Lets face it the v1's been doin it for 20+ years using the same platform bar a few changes. So do you really think belscourt gonna bust out v1 killer with arrows all of a sudden. Would you buy a detector that had arrows but wasn't as good as a v1?
like I said when they can make one they will until then you just keep on buying HD detectors that almost do the same job but cost a lot more. over in my country (veil Guys been hinting at something)the word is belscourt are going to cut down on the different amount of detectors they produce and concentrate on a few models. You must face it most of them are the same bar a few different features and similar performance....Did you know you can get a 9500ci with BS in my country...yeah man true story. At a guess it's a sti-r with escort clothing.

Well im pretty sure that escort and valentine were actually one company 20 years ago but they ended up splitting. for whatever reason. Arrows arnt that hard to produce, you just need a dual horns and its as simple as picking up a front, back, or neutral signal... I feel like escort could have it down if they wanted to. But why am I even defending escort? i love valentine but im in need of a 21st century detector that wont drive me nuts and almost have me thinking that "signal" is just another false. Im still on the fence if im going to get a Max or not but those arrows are just a deal breaker. Is it possible to run both the valentine and escort in the same car without to much interference? i guess id leave the valentine in the car for the sake of the arrows if they don't affect each other.

Recommend v1 connect and app then stealth V1 or yav1.

I don't agree with you on the X50 range why I say that is my son was driving in front of me on a long trip and the range was about the same at but times his did pick up a tad sooner but he was driving ahead of me.

Zero do you know if the 9500ix has the same antenna as the 8500 X50 why im asking is I just bought one a month ago?

I wonder if Escort could place something other than arrows on the screen I would like that.? I know they can't put arrows but maybe a V .

I've been running a 9500ix and a 9500ci (different vehicles) for some time, but I still miss the arrows and the sensitivity, particularly to lidar, of the V1. I've got two V1s sitting in my garage and I periodically toy with upgrading them and going back to Valentine. But, I live in an urban area and the constant falsing gets to be a bit much.

Someone said it above--if you've never used a V1, you'll never understand how helpful the arrows are.

if you get a 3 1/2 mile constant on that means you are getting it on a V1 so you will be fine :D
